We just got back from the Windham Restaurant[/URL] in (where else?) Windham, NH. This restaurant is in an old colonial house which is known for its history and its ghosts. Here[/URL] is a link with more information on the restaurant's resident spooks.

We were there for about 2 hours since they were busy and understaffed. I was there with my wife Heather, her friend Kim (the one who lives in the house where I recorded the "screams" a few months ago), my sister Kristen, and her son. We're the same gang that went to the Country Tavern last summer.

So, on to the ghosties. We were seated in one of the upstairs dining rooms (allegedly one of the restaurant's active spots). Coming up the stairs, I felt disoriented near/at the top of the stairs. I also felt it to a lesser degree while we were at the table, and it varied slightly. When we left, I could feel it a bit at the top of the stairs again.

On the way home, I then asked everyone else if they felt anything. Kristen (my sister) felt the same thing I did, a disoriented sensation near the top of the stairs. She said she also felt a chill. Kim, however, says she saw a "glowing white thing" (an orb?) in front of us. None of the rest of us saw this. Kim also felt "creeped out". Maybe she's more sensitive, or notices ghosts more readily since she seems to live with them as it is. Heather says she didn't feel a thing (I think I married a total non-psychic), and Kristen's 8 year old son didn't feel anything either, though he was fascinated about being in a haunted place.

The food was good too. Other than the slow service we enjoyed our visit there. And the ghostie encounter was a nice bonus! I was floored when Kim told me about the orb/apparition. I wish I'd seen that.

What a beautiful building, I imagine the interior is even more so. I like the ghostie story, thanks for that link. Sounds like you had an interesting and fun night Kevin. =) Oh that would have been a perfect picture moment when Kim saw what she did. Did any of you take a camera with you? It would be neat to see if you get the same sensations on another visit. [Eek!]

I had a camera with me but I didn't take any pics. I didn't learn what she saw until we were driving home. I purposefully avoided asking what the others felt until afterward so I don't taint my own observations. =)

Hey Kev:

Sounds like yall had a great time. Shame on you for not snapping pics. [Wink] I read the menu too, and it sounds really good. What did you have btw? hehe I don't like Eggplant, except as Eggplant Parmigiana, I love that stuff. I'd have had to have a wheelbarrow to roll me out in. [Laughing] Very interesting place, I was looking at the pics, and reading about it. So they are also an Inn? You need to plan to go spend the night there and this time "use" your cam.

Hugs,
Pate

Nope, it's not an inn, just a restaurant. I had the camera with me in case something did happen, but I didn't know about the apparition until later on. Besides, people would have looked at me strange if I was taking pics while going up the stairs. =) Besides, whatever it was probably would have left by the time I got the camera out and ready.

It would be a great place to have a ghost hunt when they aren't open.

Too cool! Sounds like a great place, and sounds like you had an interesting experience. I know you couldn't have done it with them being understaffed that evening, but it would have been interesting to talk to some of the wait-staff who had encounters with the ghost. I married a "total non-psychic" also, Kevin, but they do keep us sane! [Laughing]

It does sound like it would be a great place for a ghost hunt.

Wow Kevin, the place is beautiful! The food looks incredible. Yum! Yeah, I agree with Carrie, it would've been cool to talk to the wait-staff. Hope you had a great time there.
