Hello,

I have a few pictures that were taken just after I heard what sounded like walking down the steps.

There has been increasing activity in the house mainly around the steps including my dog barking up the stairs and sounds of someone on them.

The pictures were taken with an HP digital with flash on.

Any opinions would be appreciated!

I see two "orbs" in the first pic (one near the doorknob, and a tiny one below and to the right of the light switch. While it's possible you captured something, it could also be caused by dust near the camera's lens.

The most convincing orb pics are ones where the orb is moving.

Keep trying though. Also, if you downsized the pics before posting them, post a full-res cropped image of the orbs if you don't mind. It might bring out some more detail.

If the activity is centered around the stairs, you could try taking pictures up or down the stairs as well.

Do you ever feel anything unusual (goosebumps, chills, or disoriented) when you hear these noises, or in any locations in the house?

EDIT: I blew up the orbs and looked closer. It looks like they are being illuminated from the right. Since the orbs are toward the left of the picture, this would lead me to think they are dust illuminated by the flash. What model camera is it? If you turn the camera around so you're looking at the front of it (such as to take a picture of yourself) and look at the camera, is the flash located to the left or the right of the lens?

Hi Kevin,

Unfortunately, when I hear the noises, my camera is usually not in reach or charged (I am really bad about charging my camera and my phone) so, this is the first time I have been able to snap a pic when I heard something. It is hard to describe what I feel when things happen. It is almost a rush of energy. In this house, it feels like a positive rush. In other homes, I have had negative energy rushes. In either case, it is like a waves that comes on me starting at my center and leaves just as quickly. Hope all this makes sense.

The camera is an HP 735 and the flash is on the left of the camera.

How often do you hear noises or feel the "rush of energy?" Maybe you should try and keep your camera within reach so you can snap a pic faster next time around.

It's a good sign that you feel a positive energy; your ghost is most likely friendly.

Do you know any of the history of the place?

I live on a military base and the houses are about 50 years old. We have lived in now 2 houses on this base and our last house was VERY active. I had consulted an investigation team and they were ready to come out but, the house became covered in mold while we were on vacation and had to move.
I will definitely try to keep my camera at the ready. The only problem is that this house seems to have waves of activity then, nothing for a while.

Wacava, the house we moved from about a year ago also seemed to have waves of energy. It would be peaceful for a while and then all hades would seem to break loose.

I've got to agree with Kevin, I would say these were most likely dust. However, that doesn't mean nothing is going on there. It is hard to always have a camera handy when this stuff happens.

Keep trying though! The house I mentioned, I was never able to get even a good orb pic, but things happened there, not only to us, but to other people. On two seperate occasions, different people saw an apparition there, and the people who rented it from us had several weird experiences and finally were afraid to stay there. I had some really strange things happen there, but was never able to get a picture worth anything! When things would happen, I was usually tearing through the house trying to find an explanation rather than snapping pics.

I have heard of so many military bases that were haunted! Do you know if anyone else living there has experienced anything odd?

Hi Carrie,

The house we used to live in on this base was part of a row of 6 houses. Mine and the one next to mine were the most active and I do know of one other that had a bit of activity. (It probably had more but, my friend who lived there was afraid of anything PN and didn't talk about it much) The 3 that were active are right next to each other. My friend in the one next to mine had a lot of weird things happen. We would be on the phone and hear a banging noise on the wall between us yet, we would be the only ones at our homes. The best one was when her toaster popped up and nothing was in it and I casually made a joke about needing to put bread in the toaster to make it more effective. She went to the toaster and showed me it was unplugged. We chuckled and the kitchen door slammed shut as we laughed. Guess whoever it was didn't like us laughing about it. Up until last week when my friend moved out, she said the new tenants were upset with each other for leaving the mini blinds at odd angles. She wasn't sure if she should tell them that it was my ghost. He loved to play with the mini blinds when we lived there.

Sorry about the long post. I love this subject and have had so many experiences, I can go on forever.

Thanks so much for the opinions.

Hi Wacava,

Sounds like you have had some interesting activity at your home and at the previous one. I have to agree with Kevin and Carrie on the orbs likely being dust. As they have noted do keep trying. I too have an active home and it seems we have periods when things are more active as well. Whenever I feel anything or odd things occur I take a ton of pics. The more the better I think as you never know when you will capture something. Most ended up with nothing PN or potential PN in them but I have gotten a few interesting shots. A number of ppl find it can be helpful to ask if you take their picture, I do all the time now and believe it's helped.

I didn't find your post to be long =) feel free to share your experiences we love to hear them. Keep taking lots of pictures and do let us know if any further activity happens. By the way, does your friend still live in the small place, if she does try taking some pics over there as well?

Thanks for sharing your pics and experiences, looking forward to seeing/hearing more. =)

Thanks Cat!

No, my friend moved out not that long ago. She was always telling me about things happening but, she thinks she has a spirit that follows her. Her husbands mother died a few years ago and they have seen her a lot since they had their first child. She also seems to have another woman that showed up in the last house who didn't seem too nice. She would slam doors and we think she is the one who was doing the banging on the floor. I had a guy who walked my upstairs in my house.(except for my room) We don't know why these houses were so active though. It is a shame that we had to move, it would have been really exciting to find out what would have come from an investigation.

Thank you all for your opinions. I have never really been able to tell the difference between dust and orbs.

Wacava, orbs seem to be brighter, almost like they are lit up. Dust is more dull in color. I'm sure others can give you a better explanation, but that is how I've been able to tell the difference in taking my own pics. We're all still learning!

If it's possible to shoot pictures without the flash, and you get an orb in them, they're more likely to be real. Dust orbs are illuminated by the flash, so non-flash pics are less likely to show dust as orbs.
