*Nesting Dolls*

Well, I've only been anticipating this one for three weeks! I liked it. I'll be watching it again (probably several times) tomorrow, because I've been anticipating the whole Sara thing for so long that it pretty much overshadowed the crime for me. I just knew that there would be a blow out between Sara and Catherine eventually, their relationship has always been fairly edgy, now that I have all 4 seasons on DVD it's easier to see that. On multable occasions Catherine has run over her when it suits her, on top of that there was the whole business of Sara being the primary on Eddies murder and having that not result in his killers arrest (Lady Heathers Box, S3). From the promo I was fully prepared to detest Catherine for their fight this week but Sara was out of line there, though you'd think she might try to find out why rather that get ticked at her but I suppose it's not in her nature. However, at the end of this ep I truly did detest Catherine because it seemed to me that she was on a power trip along with Ecklie and really did want her fired. I thought Ecklie's comment about Grissom having a 'loose cannon with a gun and she's all your's' was nasty, Sara has never threatened anybody with her gun. Well she did draw her gun in 'Playing With Fire'(S3) when she shouldn't have, but it wasn't the gun that was inappropriate- it was the fact that she was supposed to let Brass clear the room. Anyway, moving along, Catherine really ticked me off in this ep, I hope she get's off her power trip soon, it's almost like she was daring Grissom to side against her, which he did.

Now to the Sara secret, I hadn't guessed that it would be that her mother murdered her father but it didn't really surprise me. I think that most of us pretty much figured that Sara had been in some sort of an abusive situation as a child. The thing is here that it still isn't clear as to who was being abused- her, her mother, both? She only mentioned trips to the hospital, but not who went. Think we'll find out more?

I really liked the scene between Sara and Grissom, I'm just not sure where it's going to lead. Technically it wasn't a GSR moment but it kind of was because he went to her appartment to drag the truth out of her and we all know that Grissom isn't all that good with emotional stuff. It was obvious that they didn't talk much about anything after he picked her up when she got arrested in Bloodlines (S4) but this time they did. 1. Was it because he didn't want to loose his CSI? I can't really believe it was only that because we know she means more to him even though he keeps her at a distance. 2. Was it because he's finally admitting to himself that he wants her there? 3. Was it because he realizes that because he know's what he means to her he can help her? I think that's it's probably all three but I'm personally hoping that the stongest reason in #2. I was hoping for a hug but I'll settle for his holding her hand as she cried, who knows, we might get more later because there's a whole month of sweeps still to go. I think the actors did a terrific job, Grissom really had to drag it out of her- he even had to listen to the 'emotionally unavailable men' comment and didn't turn a hair. I love Jorja and Billy, they are so good.

Hi Renee

I too enjoyed last nights episode. [Big Grin] I was miffed at Catherine as well. That was pretty cold of her to react as she did to Sara, not caring to even ask what may have caused her to behave the way she did. Her sitting right beside Ecklie when Grissom came to talk with him after visiting Sara was very symbolic. It screamed that she too wants to see Sara fired. There has been tension between them off and on for sometime and I've always felt it was Catherine showing her jealousy and territorial side. Hey she was a former stripper which tells me she craves and/or loves attention and Sara is not only a brilliant CSI she's a woman. Catherine even needs to flex her muscles with the boys saying I'm the woman ya know. I too hope that she gets off that high horse she rides soon or better yet that Sara is able to out shine her and that the other CSI's stand side by side with Sara through this leaving Catherine alone in Ecklie's corner.

I'm so glad Grissom has stood up for Sara and is there for her. I too wish there would have been more then just a hand hold but it was great to see Sara open up to him and that he cared enough to go to her.

I was a little surprised to learn that her Mother murdered her Father. I agree we all knew that there was some sort of abuse in her past but I wasn't quite thinking it would be this. Her asking Grissom if he thinks murder runs in the genes tells me that maybe it was not her Mother acting in self-defense or finally having enough of the abuse she was enduring at the hands of Sara's father? Maybe it was a two-way street or more on the Mama being bad? Unless she fears that she too may snap one day with violence with all that she has bottled up inside? I do think we will find out more about Sara's past. I wonder if Ecklie's comment of 'loose cannon with a gun' is a prelude to what the season finale will be about? Maybe Sara will do something that will be viewed as her snapping and we will have to wait till next season to find out the truth? Uggh.

Well let's hope this whole thing does bring Grissom and Sara closer together. Yes yes yes!!! And that it exposes Catherines true colors (witch). She needs to look in the mirror before she casts stones as she has not lead the perfect life and has not been the perfect Mother (always puts her job first) and certainly is not the best CSI of the team.

I taped the show also so I can watch it again. Tonight is back to back re-run night on spike (4 in a row) so I'll be settling in later on to watch as I love CSI re-runs and all. =) Time to get the collection on DVD. LOL

BTW part two on NY airs next week.

Hey Cat, I think your right about Catherine's jealousy and territorial side. It seems like Catherine has always been territorial where Sara is concerned. It does seem like a woman thing, Catherine's a 'tough girl' that doesn't know the meaning of the word subtle, she'll push whomever is in her way to get what she wants. That's not to say she doesn't get needy too but I think that's where the jealousy comes in because Grissom has always been there for her, mostly because she makes him be and he goes along. I remember in "After the Show" (S4) when Grissom takes the case away from Sara and Nick and give's it to Catherine, she says: "you got my back?" and he say's "I always have your back". Well now it's not his job to have her back anymore, it's his job to have Sara's back and I think he's realizing he should have considered Sara's needs more than he did in the past. Like you said, Catherine has always had a way of being top woman and making sure people know it. I've gone on a bit of a tangent here. Truthfully I think that if Sara had told Catherine what the problem was Catherine probably would have been supportive, as she was with Nick. But Sara would never had told her because she's too stubborn, too private and no way would she place her fragile emotions in Catherine's hands. Things definately wouldn't have gotten as bad though if Ecklie hadn't escalated it, now there's going to be a lot more bad feelings between Catherine and Sara and between Catherine and Grissom. I just think it's snarky of Catherine to want Sara punished when she herself has 'gone off the deep end' on several occasions. Man, talk about complex relationships!

I, too wondered about the 'murder gene', I think that you maybe right about fearing that she herself may snap one day. I hope we get some more details here because it sure wasn't the whole story. Like you I hope it brings Sara and Grissom closer together. It was funny cause last night while I was watching I was trying to cheer Grissom on "Go on give her a hug, you can do it just reach over, go on do it" I think this show is making me crazy [Laughing] [Sigh] Well we can always hope. I really don't want another Sara cliffhanger for the season finale so I setting my sights on for real, no doubt about and no analysis needed GSR this month.

Did you get to see New York last week? Your in Canada right? We didn't have a new New York because of the State of the Union Address. So it sounds like you might be a week ahead of us. Was it good?

PS, The DVD's are awesome! I love them and now I can watch anything from the first 4 seasons without comercials and without having to worry about tv reception. On seasons 2-4 there are commenteries on some of the shows that are really good. They have director's, writer's, producers, and on one Gary Dourdan commenting as the show goes along about how they did stuff and why and what the thoughts were behind the actions. Really excellent stuff, I've enjoyed all the commenteries.

Hey Renee,

Ooohh love the pic of Grissom [Big Grin]

I didn't read any spoilers for last night's ep and have decided to make it a point to avoid looking at any as I want to keep the element of surprise plus it will be fun to see if any of my thoughts each week are on the mark or not.

I'm not liking what seems to be brewing. Sophia and Gil seem to have that smitten thing going on. I'm not sure if her interest is true or if it's that she's Ecklie's little mole and is trying to get closer to Grissom for info gathering. Not that Gil will willing give anything up that Ecklie could use against him or Sara or any other team member but at the heat of passion one can slip. Who knows maybe Gil is going to play her and try to get closer to gather info to use against Ecklie to further protect Sara? I feel bad for Sara though as she is obviously sensing a little something between the two as well and is upset by it. I watched back to back episodes last night. The first one was when Sophia and Gil took the elevator ride together to investigate the teen death in the penthouse suite at the casino (can't recall the ep title) as I had missed that one previously. The second was the new ep for this week.

Ecklie's comments about Sara and seeing Sara's reaction to Sophie, have they given hint for some major friction forthcoming? Maybe Gil and Sophie will genuinely get closer and before season end Sara will snap or do something shocking? Or Sara will do something to try and make Gil jealous like maybe bedding Greg? So many possibilites can develop with all this.

Nothing ticker stopping has happened yet but I'm dying to know where all this will lead and I'm hoping that the end result will still be Gil and Sara finally hooking up. =)

Cat, I have learned my lesson about spoilers. I'll still read official spoilers, interviews and such but the East Coast spoilers from last night just about did me in. I was devastated! People kept posting about how Grissom asked Sophia out, as in a date. Thank god that wasn't what happened. I made a total fool of myself by calling my husband, bawling about how my heart was broken and I was never watching CSI anymore and it would be best if I never watched any more TV period, then I figured drowning my sorrows would be a good idea but fortunately it didn't take me long to figure out that it wasn't. [Laughing]

Sophia and Grissom do flirt alot, but I'm not really that worried about it-erroneous info via spoiler last night notwithstanding . I remember reading an interview (I can't remember where) with Billy where he mentioned something about it and it sounded like that was all it was ever going to be. In any case Louis Lombard (Sophia) will be going on maternity leave very soon, if you watch closely you can see that they're hiding the pregnancy, it hasn't been decided yet if she's going to come back next season. So the flirtation can't continue while Louis Lombard isn't there but I was worried that the dinner was going to mean a relationship, which might continue without her there. Did I make any sense? But now I'm not worried at all because, after finally seeing the scene myself, it didn't look like a date thing too me. It looked like he was going to try to convince her to stay. We've seen Grissom "interested" before- Terri, Lady Heather- and that just wasn't the look he gets when he's interested. So I still say GSR FULL SPEED AHEAD!!!! I think your right though, about Sara, she does seem a wee bit jealous, which isn't really new to her. I actually like Sophia, I just would like her so much better if Grissom and Sara where together already. And this is a minor thing considering the heart palpations I put myself through last night but, I would have much preferred that Grissom said lunch instead of dinner.

I've really liked the interaction between Sara and Greg lately, I'm not jumping ships here but I just think that their friendship is great. I read and interview with Eric Szmanda(Greg) and it was his idea for Greg to have a crush on Sara, in fact it was his idea for Greg to be a CSI.

I really enjoyed the whole stories in this ep. I especially liked seeing a bit of compassion from Catherine over the canned hunt, we haven't got to see that from her a whole lot lately.

Have you seen yet that Wallace Langham (David Hodges) is now going to be a regular cast member? I'm so thrilled! I love Hodges, he's so funny.

Oh I didn't realize she was pregnant. You may be right that may halt things in the romance department especially if she doesn't return next season. Yes I did notice Catherine showed a softer side with the canned hunt, it was good to see.

No I hadn't heard that Wallace is going to be a regular cast member, I agree he is funny. Will be good having him on regularly. =)

Well it will be interesting to see what unfolds in the next few episodes that's for sure. Warrick and Catherine, wonder if the potential fling thing will start surfacing soon?

Time will tell. =)

*King Baby*

OMG!!! I haven't laughed so hard in ages. Shame that there was no GSR but this ep was hilarious. The expression on Grissom's face when they found the nursery was great. [Laughing] I loved Catherine's "I smell crap" line when she was talking to Ecklie. And then the "Baby" store! Poor Nick! [Laughing] [Laughing] "Loving daddy"!! I nearly fell off the couch. Sophia's and Sara's conversation, "How long can they go?" And of course Grissom telling Catherine that he missed her tush. [No]

I think that I'll be keeping this ep for a while. Did anybody notice that on the promo for next week we get to see Grissom spanked? I can't wait. [Jump]

OMG is right Renee, that was too funny. I just can't imagine anyone really doing that but I suspect it does happen.

I loved all those lines too, what a hoot. [Laughing] I had to re-wind and watch a couple of them over again as the expressions were priceless.

Now I wonder if anyone put that reporter up to taking Catherines memory card? Something seems a little fishy there. I wonder if the getting spanked will be from Ecklie with regards to that in some way? Has my attention, no matter what it is. [Big Grin] No GSR this week but that's ok as there was no flirting with Sophie either. =) That little scene with Catherine and Sophie was interesting.

[Laughing] Ecklie spanking Grissom is a definite ewwww!! I didn't realize you meant he was literally getting spanked. =P Well now that is interesting to ponder. Hmmm I wonder just who the lady is that is doing the spanking and why?

I too hope that they don't only mean it's Catherine and Warrick getting together. I'm with you we want GSR NOW!!!

Maybe I was too caught up with the comedy of the ep and with how Catherine was so on edge with everything, that I didn't read into Grissoms "oh no, not again" comment that he was implying it was Sara? It may have also been with Sara not on much I didn't have her in mind as there seemed to be alot of Catherine Ecklie friction so my thoughts were he was thinking about that. I still think someone was behind that reporter getting in so easy to snag those pictures. It just seemed odd for that to happen during a high profile case and after Catherine had a hissy about Ecklie not letting her head the case.

Anyone watch CSI Miami tonight? This ep garnered a few emotions. First the actor pedophile sickened me and I have to say I cheered when the convict managed to reach him before the cops got there. Seeing the private room that he had off his bedroom turned my stomach as did the fact he had a seperate security system for the bedroom and secret room. The whole story line reminded me of the Michael Jackson case.

Poor little Madison it was so sad when Suzie told Horatio that she has lukemia. =( Very touching ending with Yelina bringing Ray Jr to hospital. I hope his bone marrow is match and they develop the story line with the two siblings coming to know each other. Does Horatio have feelings for Yelina? I know he is protective of her and would never cross the line but? Horatio has such a big heart I would love to see him fall in love with someone. I really like Alexx so would like to see her and Horatio together but not sure that will happen?

This show doesn't have the intense relationships that LV does, although there is a little chemistry going on, everyone seems more individual in a way.

I saw Miami last night. All in all I liked it, though I did find it rather predictable. I also noticed the Michael Jackson rip off. Eeeeeewwww. Horatio definately has feelings for Yelana and as far as I could tell the feeling was mutual from the first, when she came on the show. The relationship was derailed when Yelana assumed Madison was his daughter and she was mad at him for not telling her before. I will be interesting to see if they continue the story of Madison and Ray Jr. I wonder if they're going to tell us what happened with Yelana and the IA cop she was seeing, I know that when she came in with a black eye Horatio accused him of hitting her. I'd like to find out the rest of that story. I don't see these relationships as being as intense either but I find them interesting. In one ep this season I saw evidence of a very strong bond between Horatio and Calliegh- I don't know what it entails or is going to entail because it didn't seem to involve romantic interest at the time but it was more than an ordinary co-worker bond. I'm pretty sure that Alexx is married, I think remember her mentioning her husband once.

I like this ep better than the hokey snake from last week, though as far hokey goes nothing can beat NY last week. The death dress! Come on, if their going fish off the Urban Legands pier couldn't they have come up with a more believable one? Sheesh.

PS. Cat you might be right about Grissom's "oh no, not again" comment, that might just be my frustrated snarkiness showing up in the interpretation. See? It's making me crazy!

4x4

This was an interesting style, I wouldn't want to see a lot of CSI's told this way but I liked it for this one. They had one other CSI similar to this, 'Fight Night' in season three, which is one of my favorites.

I think my favorite story was Grissom's, of course. [Laughing] Even though his was the shortest it was also the funniest. His blissful expression when he was thinking about taco's was great! I love his line "I think that's got to be the stupidest thing we've ever heard". I love the look of confusion on his face when Greg and Sara walk by talking about their 'shower' together. I suppose that it was too much to hope that in a fit of jealousy he would grab Sara and kiss her passionately. [Roll Eyes] One can always hope and I'm not giving up.

I found Warrick's case interesting but honestly the best part of it was how incredibly well his jeans were....er, fitted. Hot flash material there! I did really like Catherine's and Doc Robbins conversation....."only penetrated 2 inches","maybe that's all he had to work with".....Omg! That would be awful! I busted up laughing.

Sara and Greg's case was the most interesting, and the grossest. I'm still fighting the urge to scour my apartment obsessively and listen for leaks in the walls, I'm having sinus problems at the moment and I'm getting majorly creeped out. I remember seeing a man who had that or something very similar on Ripley's Believe It Or Not, doctors had to remove the mans whole face to save his life. The interviewed him, it was really sad. I don't think I've ever seen black puss before, I've seen(and smelled) just about every other color but that's a new one for me. Ewwwwwwww. The eyeball thing reminded me of the X-Files black oil alien virus. Too bad the shower didn't last longer. hehehe. Greg wasn't quite as scrawny as I expected and we got to see Jorja's tattoo. I kind of was wishing that it was Warrick in the shower instead of Greg though. I wished we were told definitely if the girl who was missing was the one who was shot or not.

Nick's story was really sad. In fact this sort of story is what Sara usually gets, I felt a little odd watching Nick because even the music they were playing was 'Sara music'. This story line wasn't too hard to figure out, there wasn't a great deal of mystery there but it was nice to see Nick out on his own for a change. His character is the least complicated of the bunch and it's good to see him expand some. On a side note, the hooker who found the boy was also in season 4's "Getting Off".

I had to give Hodges his own bit here since he was in all of the stories, he was great as always. He's one of my favorite characters. It wasn't until I watched this ep the second time that I realized that when Warrick interrupted Hodges under the sink in the second story that Hodges was being paranoid because the mold/hazmat thing had already happened.

I've been noticing Detective Cavaliere(Greg and Sara's story), played by José Zúñiga[/URL] much more lately. He started on CSI during Season four in "Getting Off" and has been a regular but I really hadn't paid much attention to him until Nick and Cavaliere butted heads in 'Compulsion', Cavaliere was a real jerk in that one. However I saw José Zúñiga in "Alias", another of my favorite show's, a couple of episodes back. He played a character called Roberto Fox and his role was entirely in Spanish, in fact over half of that episode was in Spanish. WOW! He was fantastic! This guy is worth watching. I'll definitely watch his character more closely from now on.

I think that about wraps it up for now, this has taken me forever to type. [Nutty]

I agree Renee the different but somewhat interesting style did seem to work for this ep. I don't want to see them do this style to often though. I like the way you summed up things up with this ep. I was thinking much like you were, will add a bit cause it's CSI and can't add a reply without talking some about it. LOL

Nick's was really sad, bothersome really to think that someone would care more about themselves then ensuring a child gets the medical attention that may well have saved his life. Your right Sara seems to be the one that normaly gets those types of cases. I thought the hooker looked familiar. They seem to do that now and then. I've even seen some of the same actors playing different characters between the 3 CSI's.

I was really hoping for a bit more from the shower scene it was pretty tame. I got a kick out of Gil's face as well with the shower comment. I too started looking around the room and thinking about what might be lurking behind the walls. We need to do some work on the bathroom as it's time to replace the tub and put in some new tile. I dread to think what may be behind the drywall after seeing this ep. I'm certain there is no human flesh anywhere to start this type of mold/hazmat lol but still, creep me out. I said the same thing when I saw the black stuff ooze out of the eye, "hey it's the x-files alien virus"!

I really liked Catherine's line as well when she was talking with Al, too funny. Has she had some work done lately? Seems she's looking younger then some of the older ep's I've been watching. Good for her if she has, if you've got the cash why not.

Yep Warrick was extra yummy in this ep. That alone is worth watching it 2 or 3 or 4....times. =) Sad isn't it what some of our gender go through. Life is just getting good and interesting at 30 the last thing a woman she feel is worthless or washed up. The racket of Vegas.

I always enjoy Grissom no matter what story line or case he is involved in. He is great at whatever he does and I love his one liners.

Well the count down begins for this Thursday. Have to go watch Miami shortly and see what's shaking, new ep there tonight as well. =)

"iced"

So many things to love about this episode. I got a kick out of that kid thinking Greg was a jock! [Laughing] Greg! The one that tried to convince Sara that chess was a sport. Then Sara getting all perturbed that she was the only one that didn't know about the trophy condom thing. I gotta say, that's a really gross tradition. I had to watch the exploding toilette experiment several times, that was so great. Gotta love Hodges sniffing the stomach contents.

We got to see Grissom all dressed up, it was a shame that we didn't see much of him but he sure looked hot in that suit. "I love it when you wear gloves"! Cracked me up.

Ecklie had to do peon work again. [Laughing] He was hilarious. The look on his face when the dead dude fell over on the bench was priceless. Wouldn't it have been cool if Doc Robbins took off one of his legs and beat him up with it? [No] I loved Doc Robbins playing CSI and irritating the hell out of Vartaan. Poor David, Ecklie blaming him for the dead dude disappearing. I don't think we've ever seen David get upset before. I liked his snarky comment as he walked away from the bench, good for him! He's soooo cute, I love David.

The crop circle thing was over so fast. But we did get some nice grossness with the tapeworm and we got to see Nick having fun teasing David. David is just so teasable.

Only one left. [Cry] I want GSR darnit! If we don't get it I want my consolation prize of seeing Warrick at least partly naked. I need my eye candy. It's going to be a long bleak summer without CSI. [Cry] I hope the DVD's come out real quick.

I like the iced ep as well, there were many funny moments. I think you covered them all nicely Renee. Greg sure has come a long way and man he is looking good these days as well, such a cutie. Darn is right, is GSR ever going to happen? I have to admit I like Sara and Greg when they are working together they make a good team. If there wasn't a Grissom I think I would be rooting for Greg to woo Sara. The best part was seeing Ecklie having to slip on the gloves again. lol I love anytime Ecklie either gets egg on his face, is put in his place or proven wrong.

That leads me into the finale. "spoiler" If you haven't watched it yet please don't read any further.

I loved it when Grissom said he wants his guys back. That is but one of many questions that we have been left hanging onto from this explosive, intense finale. OMG I was glued and can't believe how quickly the 2 hours went by. There is just so much to talk about and comment on I'm not sure where to begin? I shed tears watching Nick going through that horror, especially when it was on the webcam while his parents were watching. Excellent camera work with those scenes. When the ants came in my skin started to crawl. Such an emotional ep you could feel everything that all the key characters were feeling.

You know I'm thinking, before going on any further and getting into deatils perhaps we should save discussion on this for chat? There is much to cover and we do have a few CSI fans here that we could have a great chat. We could set a time/day seperate from the regular chat session. What do you peeps think? I'd love to add much more to this post but will hold off until I see what our CSI junkies would rather do. =)

Hanging on the edge of my seat here, please let me know. [Jump]
