Hi All:

I just finished reading Amber Frey's book, "Witness For The Prosecution." I really enjoyed it. It's only 214 pages, and is an easy read. The book gives some insight as to what was going on behind the scenes before, during and after her meeting Scott. I admire her even more, now that I have read it. It took a lot of courage, and faith, and strength to go through what she went through to get evidence against him. I won't tell you all about it, but there were a few really strange coincidences, which makes me feel that Amber Frey was "chosen" by a higher power for her role in this case. One thing, was the dream she had on the 23rd of December, which I think was a visitation from Laci. Another thing, Laci Peterson's due date for her baby was Feb 10th, the same day as Amber's birthday. When Amber got pregnant with her second child, Amber's due date was May 4th, which was Laci's birthday. When Scott was arrested, the police found a day planner on him. He had an entry in there that said, "3-28--important day for Amber." She made no connection to that until she checked into the Marriott in Redwood City, for her part in the trial. Her room number was 328.

I really enjoyed the book and found it hard to put down. (I read it in 2 afternoons.) If you get a chance and are interested, it's well-worth the short time it takes to read it. One thing that Gloria Allred, (her attorney) told her, was, "The day you went to the police, you became Laci's voice." Amber Frey is a woman of strong faith, and character and she was a victim, and it all happened that way with her for a reason.

Added note: On Fox News this evening, I heard that Scott Peterson's half-sister is coming out with a book on March 1, 2005, in which she takes the side of the prosecution and she believes Scott is guilty. He spent a lot of time at her house after Laci went missing. Her book should be an interesting read for sure.

Just wonder how long it will be before this all becomes the subject for a movie.

Hey Pate, the book sounds like a good read, thanks for the heads up on it. By the bits and pieces I've read on this case and by the tidbits you've given here on the book you may be right in that she was 'chosen' to be Laci's voice. I would read a book like this but would never give a book done by Scott or his supporters a second look. Interesting that his half-sister is not one of them.

Ghostdancer I wouldn't be surprised if a movie was already in the planning stages. Sad you know movies like this always seem to give the killers that odd and very much undeserved notoriety. How often in past have killer minds done their deeds to get their 15 minutes of fame? Not that that was Peterson's reason for killing his wife but other sick minds out there see these movies and think hey maybe they will make a movie about me. Even if they expose the real truth about the killer or try and give the victim a voice in these movies the family still has to relive the pain all over again. It would be hard as a family member not to watch it just because you would want to be sure your loved one was portrayed correctly and the truth was given. I know if Laci was my daughter or sister the last thing I would want is to have a movie made about how she died. At the end of the day I feel often movies like this are made purely for the almighty buck. It's not often that they are made for the sake of the victim and his or her family. [Sigh]
