I was watching Good Morning America, this morning, and they had a guest on there that has written a book which really caught my interest. Her name is, Cheryl Richardson, and the book is entitled, The Unmistakable Touch of Grace. As I understand it, she talks about people, who come into our lives and change them. She calls these people, "Spiritual Change Agents." They profiled a woman today, who lost her sister many years ago in a train accident in Germany. The woman had never been able to get past the grief. Then, she and her husband took a recent trip to Germany, and "by chance," she met the man who just happened to be the one to pick her sister up and try and help her. The woman stated that talking to this man, and knowing her sister was comforted in the last minutes of her life, had given her such an inner peace. Also, the fact that this man had been "brought" to her, re-affirmed that everything was going to okay, and there is a greater power looking over us.

That was one example, and Cheryl Richardson will be on again tomorrow morning. She talks about how even people we have bad relationships with, can be spiritual change agents, as they push us in a direction we need to go in. She was saying that people we happen to meet, or things that a lot of us consider as "coincidence" really isn't. That is so true! Carlos Castaneda talks about his benefactor Don Juan who upon meeting a vicious enemy considered it a stroke of 'good luck'! For how else would you rise to the occasion, to be able to do battle with the odds stacked against you. And he didn't mean battle as in armed conflict, but to out-wit your opponent mentally, and to make that person understand what you had tried to do or did for them! That was power!
The Castaneda series is a way of life, a way of living that makes you think how you can make a change, a difference. The Toltec way of life goes back some 10,000 years. Every person you meet affects your life in some way. The negative or positive direction depends on the person having the encounter. Very interesting reading.

Thanks for posting Pate! I read the excerpt and can tell that this one would be a tough one to put down.

It makes definite sense and I have believed for a long time now that the people we meet or different situations in our lives are more then just coincidence.

I would definitely like to read that book!
