Hi Mare,

Thank-you so much your wishes, prayers and the white light you will be sending is greatly appreciated. (((hugs)))

My surgery was scheduled for this Wed (23rd) however due to an emergency situation that has occured my surgery has been moved back one week, it will now be next Wed (Mar 2nd). My surgeons office called this afternoon. Because there will be two specialist involved, the neurosurgeon and a vascular surgeon, two schedules needed to be juggled so they were unable to move things by only a day or two. A little bummed about the move but I surely understand why. Sure I will have one of my guys send you or Kell an email with an update next week post surgery.

Just to let everyone know I'm having an anterior spine stabalization surgery done that will involve using bone from the pelvis to fuse two levels of my spine. The procedure will take about 5hrs and does have some risks in addition to the usual ones associated with surgery. I am scared but anxious to have this done at the same time. I have been house bound for several months, due to the constant pain and reduced mobility. It will be great to get my life back to normal post surgery. =)

I'll be able to visit SK for one more week before I need to sign off for a little while.

Hugs all, Cat [Rainbow Smiley]

Aw, Cat... I'm sorry they had to extend the surgery til next week, but better one week than one month (or longer!). [Wink] We'll be glad to have you around SK for another week though! YAY!

BTW, I ditto the others... you're still in my thoughts & prayers and I'll be sending oodles of white light your way. =)

Wow, that is some surgery! I'm sorry they had to extend it until next week. I can understand why you don't want to wait; I too would want to get back to normal as soon as possible and without constant pain. -

MY thoughts and prayers are with you and loads of white light coming your way!

Hugs,
Wendy

My prayers are with Cat. Surgery is always a scary thing. I should know, I have a 'frequent surguries card'. After the next two I get one surgery FREE!!!!

I know three people who had their vertebrae fused together. They all made it through the surgery fine and have made excellent recoveries. It's true that there is an element of risk in the nature of this surgery but the success rate is high.

We will be sending you white light Cat. Take it easy and relax as much as you can.

Thank-you all so much, your support means alot to me. ((hugs))

Having been through back surgery before, I had my first fusion years ago when I was 19, I have an idea of what to expect. That time it was a posterior single fusion. Surgery went very well then and I fully anticipate it will this time as well. In fact with the advances made over the years it likely will go even better. =) Recovery will take a bit longer this time though with it being a dble fusion and anterior entry which involves moving organs and the aorta artery. Not to mention I'm *ahem* a wee bit older. [Wink]

Thanks again, you all are just the best. I'll stop by this thread early next week to let you know things are a definite go before I sign off for a bit. Till then see you on the board.

Hugs, Cat =)

Hi All,

Tomorrow is the day, surgery is a go. Pain levels have been high the past few days so even though I'm a bundle of nerves today I'm anxious to get this over with. Trying to keep the mind busy so I don't chew the nails off LOL. My son has a milestone Bday this month (he turns 18) bummer I won't be able to head out for the celebration but the family will gather here for a wee bit so I can enjoy some of the fun on his special day. =)

Thank you for your wishes, prayers and light you have sent, if you can save a little for tomorrow I would be so grateful. I'll be thinking of all of you while I'm on the mend, and I look forward to reading all the new posts on the board when I'm able to start checking in again. Take care for now.

Hugs to all, Cat =)
