Hey,has anyone read or seen online or in the paper
about the new Amityville Horror movie?
I'm debating whether to go see it or not.
i'm not sure, but I think it's more about the Defeo murders rather than all that stuff the Lutzs
supposedly experienced. They had a show about Amityville on i think TLC,but i only saw part of it.

Hi Fritos,

This is a remake of the old Amityville Horror and it looked really quite good to me when I watched the trailers. (We'll also be likely running a contest for some movie prizes -- more info on that later. [Wink] )

Aww man! It's 2:00am, all the lights are out, I'm alone ('cept for my cat), and I just watched all the Amityville trailers!! Now, not only will I not be able to sleep, but I have Doody pants as well !! LOL

I must admit that I am dissapointed that all of our classic movies are being remade. However, if they do it justice, then the modern special effects should make it incredible!! Just hope it's not like "The Haunting" or "Psycho". [Shock]

WooHoo! I can't wait to see it! Love scary movies. I agree Kell, it looks like it's going to be pretty good. Porkchop, [Laughing] You never watch scary movie trailers with the lights out silly! Good thing Oreo was there to protect you [Wink]

Normally I don't like remakes of classics. I never watched the remake of "The Haunting" because I like the original so much, but I have to say that I didn't like the original Amityville, so I might just watch this one.

Doody pants!! [Laughing] I learned my lesson quite a while ago about watching that kind of stuff at night by myself.

I'm so excited about this movie! It looks really good! Plus my favorite actor plays George Lutz (Ryan Reynolds) It should be interesting to see him in a movie like this cause all of the movies he's been in are comedies.

After seeing the preview, my daughter and I want to see that movie when it comes out! Love being hard of hearing because it gives me a better advantage whenever the weird scary sound comes on; I can turn off my hearing aid and cover my eyes and peak through my fingers! =)

I definitely want to see the movie! FYI-my sisters husband grew up on Long Island, & his mom actually went to the same beauty shop that Mrs. Defeo (spelling?) went to, so she knew her, I don't think she knew the rest of her family though, but anyway, I went to NY with my sister & her husband in '85 & got a picture of the actual house the murders took place in, & my son went there a couple of years ago (with my niece Angie, god rest her soul...& my sister & her family) but he got another picture of the house. The owners eventually ended up having to change the "windows" which were such a big part of the movie, ('cause I guess the people who made the movie used a house with the same windows) but anyway, the owners were so tired of people like us pestering them so much, wanting pictures, wanting to just go inside to see the house, etc. so they changed the windows & actually changed the address of the house so it would be harder to find. My brother-in-law got this info from a guy on a bike who happened to be riding by when they were taking the last picture. I can try & post the picture if anyone is interested in seeing it...Oh yeah! Has anyone heard of the new DVD "Death Tunnel", about Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, Kentucky? I think its out now, but I can't find out where to get it....take care everybody, & please keep me & my family in your prayers, Clarissa

I think we're going to see The Amityville Horror tonight! =) I'll let you guys know what I think probably tomorrow, it'll be a late show if we do make it tonight.

Clarissa, I haven't heard about that DVD that you mentioned. Is it about Waverly Hills? Or does it take place there. I'd be interested in checking it out though. If I can figure out where to get it, I'll let you know.

Candi, I agree, it'll be interested to see Ryan Reynolds (mmmmmmmm) in something other then a comedy.

Trinity, yeah the DVD is about Waverly Hills, & from what I can gather it was filmed at Waverly Hills as well. There is also a documentary called "Spooked" (I think thats the name of it...) its just about the hospital & I think maybe some of the previous patients were interviewed for it. I saw on some website that it was suppose to air on the Sci-Fi channel, but I couldn't find anything about it on the Sci-Fi site, so if I can find anything out, I'll let you know. You can just type in "Death Tunnel" & there should be info come up about it, if you want to look at it. Take care, Clarissa

I saw it on Sat. too!!! It scared the [Pooper] out of me too. Although we had three women sitting infront of us that would literally scream at every scary part. So I don't know what was scarier...the movie...or the three women. [Laughing]

*Ahem* Ryan Reynolds looked AMAZING ladies!!! I stress the word AMAZING....so it's worth a look see just to see him er....perform. [Wink]

Oooh great to hear the thumb's up for this movie. After seeing the previews I too thought this is one I want to see. Nothing better than a well done movie that scares the pants off you or as in Porkchops case gives you doody pants. [Laughing] With the added bonus of Ryan Reynolds I'm even more eager to get to the theatre. Hope to be able to go soon. Thanks for letting us know it's worth seeing ladies, and for not spoiling it by giving anything away. =)

Edit note: we were posting at the same time Candi so just saw the pics. Thank-you, you just made my night. Oh wow!!!!!!!! =P

You know this movie got some horrible reviews?! The Buffalo News said "Bad origonal and an even worse remake". Every tv show I watched about it said the movie stunk. Everyone I know that has seen it loved it! I think these places need some new critics or something.

~Cat I hope you get to see it soon! Let us know what you think!

Blade 3 was another great movie!!! Of course being a fan of 1 and 2 I think I would have liked it even if Ryan Reynolds wasn't in it. But...he did help....the icing on the cake! [Laughing]

Thanks for posting those pics Candi! Mmmmmmmmmm [Nutty]
