Pretty impressive list you have there. Opeth right now is my new favorite. Just bought their most recent album and it's amazing!!! All good bands though, there are a couple that you listed that I haven 't heard of. I'll have to check them out. =)

I'll put genre's next to their names, so no one tries something they hate. =P
But Opeth is indeed a great band. The singer has amazing ranging vocals. I was suprised that it was one singer, when I found out he also played the guitar I was even more impressed. =)

Oh, this is good! My #1 For me and always will be is Def Leppard!!!! ( yes I am a terd) Then there is Queen,Genesis and Evanesence. I also LOVE all 80's music (now you came probably tell my age from that last =P )

You guys are going to think i am a old fart,because i love country music & i love Alan Jackson,im going to see in concert in Aug.the 31 on my bday,does anyone else like country? Again I'd strongly reccomend opeth. If any one's interested you should listen to Windowpane, Deliverance (sample on their site), and Bleak. They're very easy to enjoy for fans of almost any genre.

I like some of the country stuff too -- anything by George Strait. He's just so purty!
I'm also a parrot head -- love Jimmy Buffet. I also like zydeco and "swamp pop", both are native to my neighboring state, Louisiana. My roots go back there, and I guess its just in my DNA. I also love Celtic music.
There are a lot of artists that I'll like some of their songs, and others that I just don't care for. Most of the new stuff I just haven't been able to get into. Yep, I'm old! =)

Updated my list. Added Judas Priest, The Servant, and Death. The Servant is an alt rock band (from england I think), they had the instrumental version of their song cells played in the Sin City trailer. Death is one of the first death metal bands ever. I think they might be the very first, not to sure on that though, but they are amazing.
