My wife took this photo two weeks ago in our bedroom. She hadn't realised what it was until I told her. The orb appears driectly in front of my sons forhead. I just noticed the ecto streak on the right after I uploaded the pic to my computer. I'm thinking it may be my sons gaurdian, because I've seen some odd things happen where he should've been hurt but miraculously walks away unscathed. I've included a link to a large resolution pic as well for closer examination.

it looks like a reflection and the orb is dust. true PN orbs emit there own light.

here's a photo that was taken in the same location just a minute before

If you look at the orb (better seen in the large res pic), it is emitting it's own "light" as shown by the halo around it. As for the streak on the right, my first instinct was that it was indeed just a reflection. So I went to the room to see if we had any clothing hanging that could cast a reflection similar to that sort like from a ski jacket. There was nothing in there that has a shiny or reflective surface to produce that bright of a reflection.

Hi busaiku:

Really cute child there. As far as he "orb" goes, I think it's probably a dustie. It can appear large if it's close to the lens and the flash could cause what little illumination is there. I cropped and looked closely, adjusting the contrast, and I can't see that it's illuminating on it's own. Here's a close-up:

Here's an example of an orb illuminating on it's own:

As far as the "ecto" or "ribbon" in the closet, if there was nothing there to cause such a relfection, it could very well be paranormal. Here's a closeup if others want a better look.

I'm not saying the orb is defintely not paranormal, especially if the object in the closet is PN. With orbs, it's a tough call, and who really knows for sure. Thank you for sharing this pic. I was also wondering if you've had any other strange or paranormal activity there. I also believe that we all have our guardian angels or spirit guides, so it's not impossible that's what it is.

Hugs,
Pate

Hi Busaiku,

First let me say, your son is absolutely adorable!!!

As far as the orb goes, I have to agree with Pate on that one. I'm thinking dust as well. Although, like Pate has said...no one can ever really be sure...so you never know...

My first impression of the ribbon was that it was a reflection of something that was on the sleeve of the shirt that's hanging in the closet. If there was nothing reflective though, then you may just have something there. When you took the second picture that you posted, I think you said you had taken it just a minute before the one with the orb...did you happen to get the same ribbon in the closet? Not sure if you zoomed that picture in on your son, or if you had cropped it before posting.

Very interesting pic none the less. =)

Hi Busaiku,

Aww what a sweetie, your son is so cute. =)

I agree the orb appears to be dust if you consider the guideline of not illuminating on it's own. I try to consider all relevant info provided/available when viewing PN pics. Like, has other PN activity been noted (especially during the time the pic was taken), conditions of the room or the weather if taken outside, reflecting objects or light close by etc. I find it helps me rule some things out that may cause a false positive or on the flip side add credit to the anomaly captured. I admit some orb pics I'm just not sure about for I still have questions. Does spirit instantly show themselves as a solid illuminating orb or do they have to build energy to get to that point? I feel it's likely the energy builds so what's to say there isn't a chance that we may capture an orb as it begins to show itself or as it's about to fade out? As Pate noted who really knows for sure, so for now ruling out possible causes is the best we have to work with.

I too thought reflection when I first saw the ribbon picture. It almost appears to have a shadow behind it. If there was nothing there that could possibly cause a reflection then I can't say for certain that you didn't capture something here. I too am interested if you have had other pn activity in your home and if the ribbon appeared in other pics taken at that time?

Thanks for sharing these with us, Cat =)
