You're not weird. =) Sounds like you have something in your house which is trying to contact you for some reason or another. Perhaps just to let you know it's there.

When you see or feel this presence try talking to it as if it was a real person (since ghosts/spirits are real people, just without bodies). Tell it politely but firmly that it's your house and you'd appreciate it if it wouldn't scare you or your family. Maybe it'll back off some. Sometimes they just want acknowledgment that you know they're there.

I also suggest keeping a dream journal. Sometimes spirits can communicate with you more readily in the dream state.

Good luck!

(edited for stupid grammatical error, silly me!)

I would like to tell you that there are many dream books at your local library. I was having some very odd dreams and decided to research it. My dreams were very horrible to me - My Dad was lying in a coffin, but he looked different - when I picked up the dream interpretation book, (there are many), this one descirbed that my dad was going to have a change in his life. Flipped me out, and of course it came true, my Mom and Dad are now goin through a divorce. I do stuff like that, so of course I just bought a dream book that was well suited for me. There are many and you may want to check out a few before studying just one. Find one that suits you! Plus, I do agree with Kevin, sometimes when I spirit in your home and wants the attention, and you can't see or hear them while awake, they may come into your dreams, which is the time that your mind is the most open. The dream books might tell you what this spirit is tryin to tell you. It does seem very improtant, especially if it is coming to you in dreams. Lemme, know what you find, and I may be able to help. Good Luck!

Hi everybody, I'm going to move this to the "All Things Psychic" forum, our usual place for dreams. =)

Luv, it is possible that a spirit is trying to contact you, the easiest way is in dreams. But from your description it sounds like the dream has more of a nightmare quality. Because the dream is repetitive I think the dream might be more about you and your anxieties and worries about your life. All our emotions that we don't express at the time we feel them, the left overs, have to come out somewhere and they often come out in dreams. It's pretty normal for the dreams to stop when you sleep somewhere else. Dreams are a manifestation of our everyday life, when you go visiting that isn't your everyday life- your thinking and feeling different things and as a consequence you dream different things.

As for the person you see at the end of the bed, I don't know. It could be a spirit or it could just be a lingering part of your dream. Sometimes it's like your body and your brain don't wake up in the correct order and you can briefly end up seeing your bedroom and your dream at the same time. It's a bizarre thing but I've had it happen to me quite a few times.

Kevin and Brauvura have given you good advice. I would start by looking through dream dictionaries- like Brauvura said, you have to find one that suits you- looking up the symbolic elements and interpreting your dream. Then you can go on from there, deciding if it's your dream or a communication from someone else.

I still think the dreams are somehow related to the spirit presence in your house. Here's why: (1) the dreams stopped when you were sleeping at your mother's, and started up again when you returned; (2) you see something at the foot of your bed after you wake up, and (3) your dog acting weird.

How often does this happen? Do you always see the presence after you wake up? Do you notice any other odd occurrences in your house? Does your husband notice anything?

My son has seen things to & thing happen to him. He was sleeping on the third floor,he was going to bed one night &someting flew past him he said it was a flash of light. He said his lamp kept falling over,he would pick it up & when he would go to bed it was nocked over again.

Hi Luv:

Everyone here has given you some good advice. I want to add another small piece of advice here. If you have or do use a "Quija" Board, this could also be a reason for some of your experiences. As a rule, Quija Boards are not the best way to communicate with the Other Side. You should get rid of any Quija Board you have in your home. I had a bad experience many years ago as a teenager with one. Also, I know I refer to Sylvia Browne, a lot, but she knows her stuff. Here is what she has to say about Ouija Boards:

-- "Using a Ouija Board is like throwing open your front door to anyone and everyone who happens to show up there. Without bothering to find out who are they are, where they came from, what they want, whether or not they are dangerous, whether or not they are psychlogically stable, or how long they intend to stay, etc... You may wonder why it wouldn't go well, since the spirits you are trying to contact are happy, loving, and peaceful. That's true of spirits you are trying to contact from the "Other Side," who are opportunistic and are looking for energy to attach themselves to, even ours. Ghosts, confused and somewhat deranged as they may be, are opportunistic too, with their own agenda, often look for ways to frighten or bully us intruders away. Dark entities headed for the "Left door" or even astrally traveling around right here on earth, can spot an opportunity a mile away and may even stop by for a good time, for that matter. Your energy, conveniently localized on a piece of plastic, poised to move it around on a piece of wood with letters on it, is like an indiscriminate welcome mat for all of the above. There is no guarantee that you will know the light from the dark, (an entity who may be a pathological liar and/or a psychopath,) a message delivered in love or simply a message delivered in a sweet tone that really means you harm. It's worth repeating. Get rid of your Ouija Boards." -- Sylvia Browne, Visits From The Afterlife

Some good comments and advice given, at the risk of being a a bit repetitive I will see if I can add a little. I agree dream books can be helpful. I have a few different ones and of them I found the Book of Dreams by Syliva Browne to be the most insightful. She describes different dream categories and uses real dreams to provide guidance on how to determine which type of dream you have had. As Brauvura said you'll want to find one that suits you. Keep in mind we are each the best person to interpret our own dreams. Often enough it's the little details that can give light to a meaning. I have maintianed a dream journal for quite some time and it was the best thing I did. Doing so has greatly helped me with understanding my dreams. Like Kevin, I too would suggest you journal.

With what you've described and since your son has also experienced things it does seem that someone may be trying to get your attention. The orb chasing you in your dream seems to fit into the attention getting thought as well as does seeing someone each time you wake from the dream. I experienced a flash of light once (I believe I talked of it in another thread) and many times have seen small flickers of what I call wee orbs of white light, including during times when the cats have acted up. I've felt them to likely be spirit visits of some sort as I feel spirit is around us all the time so it makes sense to me that we would catch a glimpse now and then. I agree with Kevin sometimes they just want you to acknowledge that you know they are there. It's worked for me. I've also had some success when I've asked for answers of who or what was causing things to come in my dreams. Asking out loud or in a little prayer I'll say before I go to sleep worked best. It can take several nights of doing this before an answer comes and at times I have no luck, but it may be worth trying. Without imposing do you feel there may be a relative or friend that has passed that may be trying to reach you? Has anyone been on your mind more often than usual or is there a date of significance approaching? How long has this been going on and have you lived in your home long? If you just moved in I'd be curious about the history of the house. As always it's also good to be sure you explore all possibilites and explanations including alternate meanings to what your dreams may be, like Renee has described. Do let us know if anything further happens.

Hi "luvtotalk...", I just read your post about your dreams...I can't really add anything much as far as that goes, but for anyone else out there (or "Luvtotalk", don't know your name...) alot of you already know that I lost my 29 yr. old niece Angie, on Good Friday, & am having a very, very hard time dealing with my loss. She was the world to me & I just want to be able to talk to her again so bad I can't stand it...I would LOVE for her to come to me in my dreams, & have asked her every night if she would, but so far, nothing...I mean I dream, but its never anything about her. I would just love to be able to see her & for her to tell me the things & answer the things that I want to know soooooo badly! I, too, am a BIG Sylvia Browne fan! I refer to her as "my woman"...(& no, I'm not "funny" or anything...lol) but she is just amazing! I have a couple of her books, but not the one about dreams. Now, since I've babbled on & on I'll get to my point...does anyone know any other ways of communicating with a loved one through dreams, besides the obvious "asking them to come"...? And no, "luv" I don't think you're weird or crazy! Noone does, I'm sure. I have been a member here for several months now, & these people are the greatest! For them to take the time out of what I'm sure are busy lives, to write someone like me, someone going through such a hard time, just to try & make me feel better, well, that speaks for itself. I just love everyone here, & hope to keep hearing from you all! I just don't know how I can make it without help & I'm definitely getting it here. God bless you all! Clarissa
