Hi!

My name is Dee and I am a biologist and college professor. I also run a cat sanctuary in honor of my daughter and only child, Shawnee, who died unexpectedly November 2001. I am currently taking care of 60+ cats, the majority are ferals. Luckily, I live on 70+ acres. I enjoyed my first chat here and hope to do it again.

I have seen and heard some strange things since my daughter died. Naturally, as a scientist, I tend to discount such things, but I do now have an interest!

I look forward to learning more about the site, the folks here and the paranormal.

I enjoyed chatting with you the other night. It's great to have a scientist here. Scientific oppinions are always welcome, not every unusual thing is paranormal and we try to rule out some of the more mundane causes first.

I think you'll also find that their are a lot of cat lovers, and animal lovers in general, here. Myself included. We love talking about our furkids. =)

Thanks for the warm welcomes! The smiling pig (avatar?) is a bit scarey-looking, but funny.
I am grateful for the cats, even all the work it takes to feed them, trap, neuter, etc. I have gotten 58 cats neutered to date. Almost everyone was either dumped or a descendent of a dumped cat. I have a mini barn and 7 smaller wooden shelters, all amish built! Luckily, thanks in part to a good diet and nutritional supplements, they are in general, healthy.

It was pleasure meeting you during chat the other night. As you know by our chat I too am a cat lover with 3 furbabies of my own. I think it is just wonderful that you built the sanctuary.

I agree with Renee scientific opinions are always welcome as anyone into the paranormal knows that a bump in the night or anomolus looking picture doesn't always mean something PN is going on, ruling out logical explanations is an important first step. Good to hear you also have an interest in the paranormal as well. There is much for all of us to learn about the mysteries that so many world wide have experienced in various ways. I hope you enjoy reading the many stories shared here and I look forward to hearing about your experiences as well, should you wish to share them.

It's great to have you with us. I'm a cat lover myself, and it is really cool what you are doing for the kitties. I was aghast when I heard one state was thinking about making ferals fair game for hunters. They are so neat. A close friend of mine lost his kitten to feline peritonitis a lil over a year ago. We went to the vet to get him a new kitten about 3 months later. The vet had 6 cages with ferals in them. So he picked one, and she is a hoot. Here's a pic of her, when we were building my pc. She's one of the neatest cats I've ever seen and wild, but hilarious. She's a sweety. Glad you have have joined us.
