Ok, so I had a reading done today and I'm not sure what to think...I asked if I was on the right track career wise and was told that she saw the state capitol with lightning striking and fires burning! Any clue to what that might mean?!? She gave me her thoughts but it just doesn't click...care to share any thoughts on this? The other question would be to the significance of seeing a crown and a ring in the context of the question "Why, after 23 yrs. has an old high school friend popped back into my life?" She also told me that she saw palm trees in conection with this person.
Maybe I shouldn't be second guessing....
Any help sure would be appreciated! [Yep!]

Hi Lizziegirl,

What type of reading was this? Was your entire reading done this way or did she provide you with mostly insightful information?

I'm not sure on the symbols at all but I'll venture a guess anyway. Maybe the lightning hitting the State Capital and fires burning means that working there would turn into a hot career for you? Seeing it was given in response to your career question that would make sense. Unless she/he was seeing something happening at the Capital and you would either witness it or it would impact you in some way? That doesn't fit the career thing though unless your in the media or working in a field that would be impacted by something happening there? The person she saw with the palm trees from your past, do you have any idea who she is talking about? Any former prom kings (the crown) or old flames (the ring) that come to mind? LOL Having someone from your past come into your life again, even if just crossing pathes by chance, is not that uncommon. Maybe the crown and ring has relevance to this persons current life, be it male or female? What do you mean by you shouldn't be second guessing?

I've had a variety of readings done and although not every message or impression given was clear the majority did have revelance and/or made sense to me, when it was a reading done by someone who was gifted that is. The readings were with me sitting and listening and only at the end did I ask a couple of questions. On the flipside, I've also had readings by ppl who claimed to have abilities but in reality were only fishers that used the many questions they asked me or had me ask to give me info I already knew. Unless they were guessing at what I was eluding about. [Wink]

The reading I had was with me sitting and listening for the most part. I didn't offer any info except when she would ask if I had any questions. The question I really was aiming at getting an answer to was a "why" kind of question. It isn't by chance that this friend has come back into my life...he looked me up and contacted me. The way I phrased the question was pretty vague...."what is the purpose of my friend coming back into my life after 23 yrs?" ( I do believe that everything that happens has a purpose...I'm going nuts right now trying to figure this one out!!!)
I didn't give a gender but she hit it on the nose when she started to answer. Her interpretation of the crown and ring was that he is someone I look up to (which is true..he's doing so many great things with his life and I'm so proud of him!) and that I feel a committment to him (true again...) Her interpretation of the palm trees was that I view him as an oasis from very controlling situation I'm in (right again...I have a very controlling husband which I did not tell her about) I guess what I was looking for were any alternate interpretations to these symbols. I need to be careful and not read more than what was presented. That's what I meant by second guessing.
I don't really know if I'm even making any sense right now..... [Sigh]

I give Tarot Readings, and I am thinking about making my own runes, for rune readings. I have never had anything like this come up. My cards just give an insight on what you might or might not need to do to obtain a goal or get over your hopes and fears, plus give you an insight on whom you should be getting support from. Did you pay this person??? Sounds like one of those gypsy's you'd find in a building on the corner somewhere, lol, like in the movies. I've had my palm read a few times, and I haven't even gotten those kinds of answers? How did they start out? Looking at your palm, or just by asking you questions? I have come to find that most "psychics" basically obtain the info they need in order to tell you your "future", by asking questions and then assuming from there. Becareful, I've found most of those kinds of people are scammers. Do you know this person personally????? I am not sure about the symbols either? I will look up some of that in the books I have here, to see what I come up with. The palm trees also could mean what time of year it is, since most palm trees only grow in warm weather that are there all year long. Sorry, I don't know much else to tell you. I wish I could help more but without knowing a lil' more I am reluctant to help you solve your dilema.

Well, the shop I found her in was in the middle of the block..(not on a corner) lol She didn't do a tarot reading for me (although I think I would have felt better if she had.)My basic question was what I needed to know for my higher good (what purpose was there in regards to my friend coming back into my life). She would just place her hands on top of mine and then start giving me the symbols. And yeah, I paid her....I don't think she's a scammer but I didn't come away with a real confident feel either..
I'd really like to get a reading done by someone reputable but I don't even know where to start.
In fact, I'm in need of some guidance now more than ever...
Thanks for your input, guys! [Rainbow Smiley]

Hi Lizziegirl,

I misunderstood, I thought she was wondering why someone from your past had returned vs it being you that asked the question. People come in and out of our lives for many different reasons. I agree everything does happen for a reason. Perhaps he has returned at this time as a reminder to you of a time when you felt more free or at ease to do, think and feel as you liked without having someone control your every move? I read your other post on your situation (sorry I've been meaning to reply) and I know that you are having a difficult time with your husband being so controlling. Look into your heart, the answers are there.

Brauvura has the same feelings as I with ppl who provide readings. Many are scammers and once you have found someone who is reputable you will easily note the difference. Brauvura makes some very good points. Readings are about gaining some insight not confusion. I've been thinking about the symbols and you know it doesn't matter what symbol this lady would give it can be applied to any person in any situation. Maybe that's why she uses them, they are safe and generic enough to make it seem like she is giving you some insight? Word of mouth is how I found someone reputable, no shops or advertisments.

I do understand the need to want some guidance when you are facing difficult decisions. I've walked the road your on now and no matter what others said positive or negative the decision to make a change and recapture my life and self- worth came from within. I too still desire at times to be given the answers or a glimpse of what will come to be for it certainly would make things easier. I've come to understand that we all have lessons we are here to learn. If we keep our eyes, hearts and minds open we can and do learn from them, which makes us stronger and better. Sometimes the lesson is not ours but anothers' that we are playing an important role in. Each of us have been given the gifts of free will and of instinct, listen to yours it will guide you.

Lizziegirl, everyone here has given good advice. I don't have any pesonal experience in going to a psychic so I'll leave advice in that area to those that have had that experience. I can only say that if you didn't feel confident about the connection then maybe she just isn't the one to read you. Since you said that you do want to try it again with a different person you might want to try going to your local metaphysical book or supply store and asking who they recommend. These places often know local psychics, sometimes they host their workshops and readings, and they might be able to help you find a psychic that would be more suited to you.

Good luck. Remember, you shouldn't have to make things fit. It's good to be receptive, but you don't want to be so open to it that you try to fit things that are too vague or just don't click. Try discussing the process with the pyschic before hand-without personal details from you- so tha you know realisticaly what he/she can or can't do.

Psychic ability isn't textbook. Which is one of the reasons why dream books are not accurate for everyone. Everyones brain and understanding operate anywhere from almost just like our own to very, very different. I've found that psychic impressions mean the most to the perceiver. That is the things a psychic sees can be most relevantly understood by the psychic person themselves.

For example, I did a quick read for a woman before. I got the picture of a TV character. To her the character left her clueless. But to me it explained her position in her family perfectly. I just had to explain to her what I see not by the image but by the impression and what that impression tells me.

This psychic may be very good. I don't know. But listen to what the psychic says. Sometimes the symbols mean nothing to them and everything to you and sometimes it's the opposite.
