Because this story involves other people, for privacy reasons I won't be going into alot personal details .Back around July 1977. I was 19 years old. Some friends of mine were living for a brief time in boarding house while going to different colleges and working etc. They were staying at this boarding house untill they found their own apartments or houses in the city etc. This is very old building in the part of San Francisco that had not burned down during the 1906 earthquake. One afternoon I went to visit them to have dinner with them later in the evening.I had just walked in the boarding houses lobby and was having the front desk ring their rooms. When I there was horrible crashing noise outside on the street.Several of us ran outside and saw that a young blond woman was laying on the ground on the other side of the building who had commited sucide by jumping out the window on one of the upper floors to street below. The ambulance showed up, but the woman was allready dead.We were not friends with young woman and did not even know really know who she was.But it it was very sad and traumatic experience for all of us.Years later this boarding house was sold and remodeled It became a fancy hotel , beautifully furnished called the Queen Anne Hotel.I had heard in 1977, that other people had died and passed way in that old building.I don't know if anyone else died there in a violent way. Rght across the street opposite from this hotel is another old mansion that in the late 1800's was owned by a Rich Madam called Mammy Pleasent. The people involved in that building had one duel fought outside it, where somone died, and one sucide that was suppose to be murder. The building has offices in it now. This building is a very short distance from the Queen Anne hotel. Both these building are part of a ghost tour that is given at night. I have no idea if the person that puts on the ghost tour knows about this story or not about the woman in the now Queen Anne that commited suicide. The hotel suppose to haunted right now.I wonder if that young woman's ghost or spirit could be one of the ghosts that are haunting that hotel now ? I have no desire and I won't be doing any research on the subject of that building. But later this summer when the weather gets alot warmer, I will going on that ghost our in the city.I am wondering if I should mention it to thatman putting on the ghost tour ? , I am thinking I might privately contact the man that puts on the ghost tour and tell him the story.I am not at all surprised that building is haunted considering some the things that have happened there andso close to where the hotel is.I am putting a link to that ghost tour site so you all see some of orbs people
have taken photo's of.I do say a prayer when I have driven by or walked past that building for the souls that died there.

Here's the link: Haunted Hotel[/URL]

****EDITED: Just combined your 2 posts, and made the url into a link for ya. =)

Hi Gremlin:

That's an interesting story. It would be cool to check out the Vital Records there or newpaper archives and find out about the suicides that took place that year. You might run across a name or something. The Ghost Hunt looks like it would be a neat one. I've also heard that most people who commit suicide in San Francisco, choose to jump from the Golden Gate Bridge. I saw something about it on tv awhile back. There have been a lot of them too. You could probably get some possible PN pics around that city for sure. [Cool]

Hugs,
Pate

Thanks Pate for posting up right the web link for me.It was such
a upsetting experience for me and my friends back on 1977, to have seen the results of that poor woman's suicide .Who I think was only in her early 20's.I don't bring up this story very often to people.Your right that most people do commit suicide by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge, or the Bay Bridge, its a sad fact. I have feeling that woman that died there, that her soul is not at peace, she died such a horrible way, she broke her neck.So I wonder if she is not one the ghosts that haunt that hotel.I am looking forward to going on that ghost hunt walk in that neighborhood this summer to the different houses that are
suppose to be haunted.

That is so tragic and sad. I can imagine this was very upsetting for all that witnessed this as well. It's possible she has remained earthbound and still remains at the hotel. I understand why you don't talk of this story often given the circumstances. I also understand your not wanting to research things more, not sure I would either. When you do go on the tour it wouldn't hurt to ask the guide if he is aware of the story.

I'm looking forward to hearing more after you've been on the ghost walk, it sounds like there are a few haunted locales so I'm certain it will be very interesting. Be sure to take a camera with you. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Hugs, Cat =)

That is a very sad story. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she was indeed earthbound. I'm sure that the tour guide would love to hear the story, if he hasn't already. And if he has, then like Renee stated, you'd just be adding to or confirming what they already know. Something, I'm sure, that would be greatly appreciated.

I can't wait to hear how the ghost walk goes. Definitely take that camera, you never know what you might get. =)
