Actually, B&N does have a nice selection of Paranormal books, I usually find them in the "New Age" section. Different stores put them in different places, employee's are the most helpful when you have a specific title in mind. I haven't been to Border's yet. I'll list a few of my favorite's. When you go to the bookstore makes sure that you have the title's ISBN #, this is the easiest way to make sure that you get exactly what you want.

True stories:

All three of these are by the same authors. They are told in a journalistic style, they're easy to read, interesting. The authors present the story or legend and the facts that they were able to find and leave it up to you to decide how true the stories are.
Historic Haunted America
Haunted America
Haunted Heartland

Ghosts: True Encounters with the World Beyond- this book is huge! Fortunately it's now in paperback. B&N has also published excepts of this book in 4 or 5 volumes, True Ghost Stories,More True Ghost Stories,Great American Ghost Storie's, Real Hauntings- True American Ghost Stories. So when you see a Hans Holzer book published by B&N it's probably an excerpt from the large main book. He's not the best of authors to read but his investigations very detailed and interesting, and any time there is a medium involved in the investigation we get a transcript of the session.

Fiction Ghost Stories:

The Ghost Stories Of Edith Wharton- short stories
Roald Dahl's Book of Ghost Stories- a Collection of short stories edited by Roald Dahl
Stephen King's
Bag of Bones
Stephen King's
The Shining
American Gothic B&N published book of short stories

Hope this helps, the stories are out there, it just takes a bit to find them sometimes. When you go to B&N, always have a look through the cheap section because B&N often publishes collections of short stories- both fiction and true- and excepts from other books.
