Ok I had got some photos with what might be dust or orbs. I was just wondering is it better to shoot with the flash or not. Ive tried without the flash and needless to say I couldnt see anything. My mom likes the house dark, all the curtains are heavy and most of them have blinds or are covered up. Any good programs I can use to lighten the photos up?

Also even though I did use a flash I got two photos that have pretty nice orbs. They are very bright compared to the others. One even looks as if it has a face. So should I just blame it on the dust?

I have seen good pics with orbs or other anomalies with and without a falsh used. Orbs that seem to have their own light which are captured without a flash certainly help to rule out things like dust, moisture etc. So try taking pics without a flash even if it is in low light.

It is always best when you are sharing pictures to post the original untouched picture. Not to say that you can't or shouldn't adjust the contrast to help show a different take on the pic, just be sure to post the original as well. Before and after shots if they are taken consecutive, same angle etc can help with certain pictures (some don't need them). I found the more pics I took it got a little easier to tell the dust orbs from a potential true orb. I certainly have a lot more that I feel are dust then of potential pn nature. I've even tried creating false positives, that helped too.

Best advice I can give is keep taking lots of pictures (with and without a flash) especially if PN activity is noted and most importantly be open to opinions. At the end of the day opinions given are just that opinions, but they can be very helpful. There are many unaswered questions when it comes to the paranormal so no one truly knows for sure exactly what it is that is captured sometimes. I hope that helped and good luck with your pic taking. Cat =)

Thanx for the input Cat. It's really hard for me to get good pics when not using a flash since the house is so dark. Generally I try not to use it but when its completely dark its kind of hard. lol Well like I said above I did get two orbs. It happened the same night I had some things move. I basically said this is your time to show up so do something. lol

For pictures see Kevin's post below =)

The only thing I messed with was the tint, brightness, and contrast. I only did that for the close-ups. Not sure if I got anything but they still look interesting.
I noticed out of all the "orb" pics I have most were over my bed, maybe someone is watching me. I do have other pics some with orbs and others
without. I'll try and post some later.

*******
Sguillen, the reason the pic's didn't post properly is because the board doesn't allow HTML. You have to use UBB Code's[/URL]. Since Kevin posted the links for you in his post I just removed the html confusion here. =)

Those are pretty neat orbs. On both pics, I don't see how the flash could have caused the orbs, the orbs aren't on the level that the flash would be and there doesn't appear to be an unseen light source that could cause "dust" orbs.

I agree that sometimes you just need a flash because there's not enough light. Not much you can do about that. Yes, a flash can cause false positives, but so can other light sources. Light is a requirement for taking pictures or you'd just end up with a completely black pic. I think it's more important to evaluate each picture individually than to worry to much about a technicality that you can't control.

thanx very much Kevin P. I dont really get the UBB code so is there a way I can send them to someone and have them post it? I obviously am not a computer person. I took some more photos so we will see what, if anything, turns up. Thanx again guys!

sgullen, all you have to do is:

[ URL ] hyperlink [ /URL ]

or

[ URL=hyperlink ] clickable text [ /URL ]

Remove the spaces for the tags to work. I only put them in so the board doesn't interpret what I typed as tags. =)

To see a real life example, go to my post above where I hyperlinked to your pictures and click the "Reply w/Quote" button. You'll see the code in the reply box.
