To make a quick introduction, my name's Chris, and I'm not too keen on the paranormal aspect of this world, but that mainly has to do with me being an engineer and I kinda get creeped out by things without a solid explination.

Anyway, my girlfriend (Claire) is currently studying at a university in Phoenix, AZ. Her roommate (Abbie) lives up north in Illinois (near Chicago) and spoke to her about this little black ghost with yellow eyes that follows her around and causes... well, havok for her. It's not anything serious, but Abbie loses things she probably shouldn't (like a blowtorch), and often has things ruined while she is staying at her home during college breaks.

I guess the little prankster missed Abbie during the first term so much it decided to move out of the home and drive back to the dorm room with her. Unfortunatly, its starting to creep Claire out. According to Claire, it looks like a cat with really pointy ears, and possibly no tail, and completely black and solid. She can't get a good look at it because every time you look directly at it, it isn't there anymore and is looking at you from somewhere else. She drew it up really quick (10 seconds) because she couldn't take a photo of it, so if you would like me to post that, I can. She's an artist, so her drawings arn't bad.

The ghost hasn't done much to Claire yet. She thinks it likes tormenting Abbie too much. Infact, she started calling it Fluffy. The only thigns Fluffy has done to Claire (in a way, not "done" but "offered") has been a broken nose guard on her glasses, and the frame was bent a little.

Me being a very curious person (people often remark it will kill me one day), I want her to try to get it in her lap, cause I would try that myself. I have a feeling it might not be a ghost, but some creature that no ones really gotten ahold of yet. I know, I know, an engineers view, but I like to think its a living being.

Something that goes along with the above mentioned view is that it actually eats and drinks. If something is left out, pieces will be chewed off, or if a glass is left out (in this case a 2 liter of soda), a noticable amount will have disapeared.

To counter this view is the fact that Fluffy can travel distances in a fraction of a second, stay perfectly out of your direct line of sight, can give off a "chill" (Claire stuck her hand down and it came to her. Needless to say she was incredibly freaked out.), and likes to make random misfortunes occur. Just now as I was typing this, Fluffy made Claire's soda can burst and spray everywhere.

Finally getting to my point, I would like more information on this if anyone has it available. I'm very very curious about this entity. Infact, the next time I visit, I might have to treat it like one of my cats back home just to see what happens. Hopefully I leave with everything I came with....

Thanks for the help,
Chris.

In addition, if you would like more information, ask. If I have it, I'll offer it.

Oh, and another thing. She had gone to the bathroom to use the toilet and she shut Fluffy out of the room. She said she heard him beep. I think Fluffy has a crush

Hi Chris,

Nice to meet you. =) I've never heard of anything quite like this. I know there are animal spirits among us but they are not usually associated with causing misfortunes. The description does sound like a cat but that doesn't mean that is what this is. Do either of you think this could be a pet from past? You mentioned Claire couldn't take a picture of it, does that mean nothing showed in the pictures when she tried or she's unable to snap a pic because she doesn't see it long enough? It's not always easy to capture something on film but keep taking lots of pics, especially when you notice this thing is around. It may even help to ask it if you can take it's picture. I know that may sound odd but many ppl have found (I included) when trying to capture a ghost or spirit asking first can help (when dealing with the human type anyway).

That is most curious that it appears to be eating and drinking. Seeing it seems to be able to travel with her etc wonder why it wouldn't just enter a room even if the door is closed? There are entities and ghosts out there that like to play pranks and/or are more inclined to cause grief then good. Perhaps this shape she is seeing is something similar to a shadow person but for whatever reason it's showing itself in more of a animal like form? Have they tried asking it or nicely telling it to leave? There is also a chance as you say that there is some animal or creature there that no one has managed to get hold of. I'm really not sure what this is, some others here may have some ideas or even experienced something similar.

Do let us know if anything further happens. =)

Well, I have an update, finally.

I dont think hes a ghost at all. I am currently visiting Claire's dorm and on her computer at this moment. I have come to realize more and more that Fluffy isnt a ghost at all, but an actual creature. Abbie and I have both been doing research and we have come to believe that Fluffy is closest to the description of an imp.

I, myself, havnt had much experience with the little devil. I've seen him run behind the couch or chair, only to catch a glimpse of his foot, but he has already occupied a couple CDs of mine. The first thing he liberated was my wallet, but gave it back (thankfully). If anyone has any information on imps or the like, please tell me. I think we might be onto something.

The capitol in Washington D.C. is said to be haunted by some ghostly cat that is suppose to appear whenever some tragedy is about to occur. I think I read that it appeared just prior to the great depression and JFK's assassination.
