I don't know if they would be able to produce the same type of strength they had in their physical body. I suppose the intensity of emotions and certain conditions could inhabit or magnify a spirit's kinetic energy.

Just as an example, a few months ago I had a large medicine cabinet in my bathroom seemingly hurled off the wall. We never could find a reasonable explanation for it. I don't believe my house is haunted, but I do feel that I get the occasional "visitor" that just passes through. Whatever hurled that cabinet off had to have a great deal of strength and I suppose with that, some pretty strong emotions and/or need to get my attention. My theory on the incident is that whatever was "visiting" at the time was able to gain strength from a simultaneous thunderstorm we had during the incident.

I also believe the personality a spirit had while in their physical body may have a lot to do with how much they are able to manipulate physical objects. A person who was shy and retiring in life, likely would not be throwing ojbects around or hiding things in spirit form. One who was mischieveous or hot tempered probably would. I think the personality traits a person has in life carries over after life on the physical plane has ended.

Interesting question, certainly something to ponder!

Good Question. I suppose the first thing that comes to mind with kinetic energy is if you believe that some ppl actually possess it to begin with? As with anything that falls under paranormal the skeptics out there doubt it's existence. I for one believe that some ppl are capable of moving objects kineticaly (sp?) be it intentional or not. From what I've read it seems very few ppl who have this ability maintain it through out their life though as this ability is often shortlived. As for a ghost, I imagine it's possible they are capable of the same strength should they have utilized kinetic energy at time of their death, but no way of knowing for sure? Earthbounds utilize various energy sources to manifest or manipulate things so it's also possible the strength is dependent on the source itself and has no bearing on whether the person possessed kinetic energy in life. Do you think they are a capable of the same strength GrimReaper? Cat =)

I was too Carrie. I first starting commenting in the same line of thought as you then considered maybe this was referring to vibrational kinetic energy which can relate to telekinesis or psychokinesis so changed my thought. I do agree with your comments btw. I guess one way to look at this is a ghost or spirit uses energy to manipulate an object which is what telekenisis is: moving matter using the mind and energy. Sorry if I did go in the direction with this and confused things. =)
