Hi, I think Renee 's suggestion of adding a thread to share about reminders of Ghost investigation shows On TV is a great idea. Instead of me every week just adding it to the tag board.So more people will see these reminders.

Thanks for making a thread on this Gremlin, I agree great idea to do so Renee. Much easier to tell about upcoming shows on a thread vs the tag, more ppl are likely to see it plus you can give extra info as well.

Bummer we don't get Sci-fi channel here (at least not with the cable/digital provider I use), I know there was talk about it being added as an option but so for nothing. Still get several other PN shows on other channels though and a few air on more than one station which is great.

Tonight before Most Haunted was a program called Ghostly Encounters, taped both but haven't watched them yet. I also like Proof Positive but haven't seen it for a bit. Anyone know if it's still on or is it just re-runs they are showing once in awhile?

We have another show called Creepy Canada (on several nights a week cpl different stations, lots of re-runs though). It's not an actual investigation show it explores alleged haunted locales and shares the tales people have told. They do re-enactments while the stories are being told by a narrator, although the story itself is interesting the acting leaves something to be desired. Myths and Legends (debunked) is another one that is on but I haven't checked it out yet (it's on discovery or space I think). Will add more when I think of them and/or watch them to see what they are like. =)

Been meaning to watch GW to see what it's like but keep forgetting to tune in. So many PN related shows on right now hard to watch them all. I try and tape most shows so I can watch in a stretch and zoom through commercials otherwise I'd be glued to the tube every night.

Not sure if we get it here or not but there is a new one starting on travel channel I think called psychic investigations. I'll have to do some checking on it, there is another new one right after but can't remember what it's called. Hope I can remember where I read about them. =)

Well I didn't have to do any research afterall. I taped a few shows this week so decided to watch a cpl late last night. I turned on the tube and it was on the TLC channel, and lo and behold the two shows I was going to research were on. Well actually there was only 15 mins left of the first one when I tuned in.

The first one was called Psychic Witness (not Psychic Investigations) and the second new show is called Dead Tenant.

Both are hour long shows on TLC with the first starting at midnight here (check your listings). I noticed they are on again this Sunday (repeat of the two eps last night).

Psychic Witness looks good. These are actual cases in which the police have utilized a psychic to assist with the case. They profile 2 cases per ep and I caught the tale end of the 2nd one. It was a 16yr old girl who simply vanished on her way home form school. The psychic used was 100% correct in her information. Sadly the girl was found murdered (as the psychic noted) however they did capture the guy who did it. He was hiding out near his home and the psychic gave the exact location etc. They do a remake of the events as they happened while interviewing detectives that were on the case and their sessions with the psychic.

The second show Dead Tenant is an investigation type show, with a PN investigating team going to a location that is alleged to be haunted. This one was a private residence. I don't know if they will be using the same team each week or different ones. I will have to watch this one again on Sunday as I ended up dozing off and missed most of it. I caught the beginning, bits in between and the end. Can't recall the name of the team that was used but two psychic/mediums were part of the group. It didn't appear to be as good as the Psychic witness however to be fair I should watch the entire ep along with at least one or two more before passing judgement. Check em out and let me know what you think. =)

Not a weekly show but looks interesting. It's on twice tonight on A&E, first air is on right now (7pm - 9pm) second when is 11pm - 1am.

New - Mediums: We see Dead People , profiling psychic Mediums and examining the various ways their abilities are manifested, inlcuding the supposed ability of being able to speak to and see the dead; assisting law-enforcement officials with cases. (2005) Paranormal

I caught "Dead Tenants" and found it pretty interesting. Of course, I'm going to have to watch it a few more times before I make a final decision, but from what I saw it looks pretty good.

To me, "Dead Tenants" seemed more legit than some of the other shows out there. While I won't discredit anybody's skills or the stories they tell, some of those shows just don't impress me much. Blame it on my courses in criminal justice...

The Ghost Hunters in "Dead Tenants" didn't just run into the place jumping to paranormal conclusions at every noise or feeling. Nor did they go in and immediately seem to strike up a conversation with the resident spirits.

When the crew first entered the home they were investigating, the first thing they did was sit down to a nice meal with the family, getting to know them and what each individual was experiencing. Then they casually walked through the house, getting a feel for each room or area whether it was indicated by the family as being haunted or not.

Then the actual investigation began. The part I liked about this was that they didn't try to look or sound like high-tech whizkids. Sure, they had their thermometers, infra-red cameras, and EVP recorders, but the focus wasn't on them. They placed them and/or got their readings and went on.

Another thing I liked was that the investigators was that they didn't act as if they had instant access to every spirit present, and they didn't try to tell their stories as if they were being told what to say by the ghosts.

But the biggest thing that impressed me was, once it was determined that there was some sort of paranormal presence, they set out to establish a reason why that spirit might be there. For example, the "angry" spirit in the driveway was linked to the owner of the property many years ago, who had killed his neighbor because the neighbor tried to poison the man's alcohol stills. And the teenage boy thought to be haunting one of the home's bedrooms was determined to be the spirit of a boy killed in a car accident, in which he hit a pole and died, on the property back in the 70's.

But as I said, I'll have to watch a few more episodes to see if it's "real" enough for me to put any belief into it. So far though, I really like the ghost hunt and the added forensics to establish why the place is haunted.

I keep forgetting to watch Dead Tenants, only caught the last 20 mins of the last show from the bits I saw I liked it. There were a cpl soldiers that they were focused on which they believed the one is the energy the homeowners were seeing and experiencing. I caught the seance portion, they used thermal imaging and it was crazy the way one fellow in the group turned red hot. They showed the thermal image of the group and all was normal but during the seance itself the guy (who was a major skeptic before this) starting to visibly sweat and his thermal image went red hot while everyone else's remained normal. He relayed afterwards that what he felt, saw and sensed during this freaked him out, it scared him. He is a war veteran and he noted that it bothered him more than times when he feared about becoming a P.O.W etc. I believe he is a cop now? At any rate it was very thought provoking to see this happen.

KDogg did you happen to see that ep? Curious what you thought about it?

Gremlin how were the Halloween specials? The only one I remembered to tape was possessed possesions. I haven't watched it yet though. =)

I am sorry Cat did I not respond earlyer to your question.I enjoyed these Halloween specials on ghost investigations alot. They kept repeating on Most Haunted the shows. After a few hours I had to put something else on TV. I can only watch so many hours of them trying to commmunicate with the dead.lol They had a very interesting Chat room they hooked up on the web site when it was first shown earlyer that day.It was very busy, they asked people to watch 3 web cams for any activity,to text mesage them ,or post it and they showed some texts messaging coming in on TV. It was very busy and people worldwide were reporting that they saw things, of course one does not know if this was real paranormal activity or not.I think it was great to have this is on TV.It sounds to me that the subject of ghost hunting and the paranomal have alot of interest worldwide.

There is another show on YTV called Ghost Hunters. It is just kids doind ghost hunts, but it is still pretty creepy! It scares my 5 year old!

Welcome to Spiritkeep!

With it being on the kids channel I didn't pay any attention to it when I saw the title in the guide. Though I did stop on it while flipping channels one day and was surprised to see the kids actually ghost hunting with equipment and all. I can understand why it would scare your 5 yr old, I imagine lots of kids feel the same way. I've only seen it just the once and it was half over already, but I thought it was well done for a kids show. They did pretty good with their investigating and the place they were at seemed creepy enough.

Are all the shows done with different kids taking turns doing the investigating while other kids judge them on how they do? I'll bet my nieces/nephews would enjoy this show, provided they are not already watching it that is. Thanks for the reminder, I'll be sure to mention it to my sisters the next time we chat. =)

Oh yes Gremlin...I watched that show...I love it...have you watched the show that comes on the Discovery Channel on Thursdays called A Haunting...it is kinda like Ghost Hunters...but on this show it actually acts out the story like a movie then goes in to investigate it...I just have to say they are both great shows to watch!
