Here's mine. Just did it today. I was thrilled that it turned out so well because I haven't carved one in years and I don't think I've ever done such a complicated one before. Took me 2 hrs. total.

I want to see all your pumpkins too! [Shock]

These are mine. I painted them rather than carving so they would last longer and Brianna was so excited about decorating for Halloween this year. Yours is gorgeous, Renee! I carved a beautiful one a few years ago that looked like a gypsy girl and I've always wanted to do another.

Those are awesome Carrie!!! You must have had so much fun painting them. I bet Brianna is excited, Halloween was always a favorite for me when I was a kid. I would have loved to have seen the gypsy one, that must have been something.

Those are really great pumpkins ladies. =) Renee did you free hand yours or use a stencil? Haven't done mine yet, guess I should get at it soon. LOL I like to put up a few decorations outside for the kids that come for the treats. We usualy put some up by now but for some reason we haven't gotten around to it yet this year.

I should see if I can find the pics of a set-up we did a few yrs back as it was pretty cool. We did a spooky theme that took us a good week to set all up. Being outside the city it's pretty dark at night so that helped to make things spookier. We made a big graveyard on one side of the driveway and used green floodlights to illuminate most of it. Hung a huge spider (8 foot long legs) off the house and spread cob webs across the bushes along the front windows and up to the door. We turned a spruce tree into a ghoulish being using dark sheets and a large illuminating mask and made 2 smaller trees near it into ghosts (used floodlights to light them up too). It was neat when the sheets blew a bit in the wind. Used fish line to dangle a bunch of little ghosts off other trees. Put a creepy stuffed man in a chair near the front steps and next to him was a coffin with a bloody hand coming out of it and bones laying about it. We carved several pumpkins for the front walk leading and put a speaker in the window to play spooky music outside. I dressed up like a witch to hand out the candy. It was a riot but a lot of work to do. I know for this yr it'll be a pumpkin or two and a couple decorations around the front door only. =)

Anyone dressing up for halloween and heading out to a party this year?

Aww, thanks everybody. =)

Cat, it definately wasn't free hand, it was a pattern. Your Halloween set up sounds like it was amazing, I bet it was alot of work! Sounds like it was worth it though.

I've got one more for you guys. The haunted castle was awesome but it had one night of glory and then collapsed. [Laughing] That's the way it goes sometimes. So I had to make another. This one took forever, nearly 4 hrs. ouch my back!

Thanks everyone! I had fun doing those. [Embarrassed]

We've gone all out and decorated the yard and living room this year. We've got a "graveyard" in along our walkway with funny little tombstones and some cute decorations that I painted several years ago. I love painting on old, wooden ironing boards and a few years ago, I painted a scarecrow on one that I dearly loved and refuse to sell. So, this year, he's guarding the front door.

I love going to stores a few days after Halloween and picking up decorations for next year. I've gotten so many cute things over the years for next to nothing!
