Hi everyone.I am sorry it took to so long to post this.I got over the flu and I am a slow typest and I am way behind in my e mails and postings etc. I was home one afternoon with the flu.I was wide awake watching TV.A man with dark clothing, maybe 5 foot 8 walked though my apartment,It was a clear ghost. and I see his features.But I could tell he was not physically hereThis spirit walked past my kitchen area, into the area where my computer sits and went out though my windows.This has only happened once before, in the 1980's where I use to live.In this large building we have had alot of old people who passed away that lived here for years and some people passed away young from Illness's etc. The elderly lady that lives right next door to me with relatives now that are taking care of her now.Had her husband die at home next door to me from cancer.One young man in my building passed away from a illness about 3 years go.The area I live use to be green grassy hills where they use to graze herds of goats, sheep and some dairy cows.About 1 city block from me, in the 1800's there was a large stream that went though this area.Its still underground just buryed now. I have heard water can bring paranormal activitie sometimes. To be honest when I saw this one. I told him to leave of my home and go toward the light and God.That he was no longer alive and that this was my home and he needed to be at peace and stop roaming and go toward God. I also turned my eyes away from him, for a few seconds ,but I was afraid he would look into my eyes again like the last ghost.lol I was weakened witht Flu but,I was not drugged or drunk, or sleeping and was not imagining this.I felt bad later I told the spirit to get out of my home ,that I was so unfriendly.He was just walking though my apartment, and I felt no negative energy But I was not feeling well at the time.For privacy reasons this time.I am not going into to much more details.But he was dressed in clothes they use wear many years ago.Maybe from the 1800's .I live in San Francisco, California and I wonder if he was not victim from the 1906 earhtquake.There was not a apartment building here untill the early 1960's.I just hope nothing is buryed under this building from the quake ,on any old graves that were later removed when they build it.I have seen thngs out the corner of my eye and there has been paranormal activities I feel around this building. I am wondering if he was one of the shepards that had flocks of sheep or goats that use graze them here and lived around here during the last century.I not did not have my digital camera where I could get to it when this happened.Goodness what is itwith these ghosts that think they can just walk into ones home like a stroll in the park.lol

What a neat experience you had, although I can imagine it was unnerving at the time. It's not everyday a ghost goes strolling through your home. Well actually I should say it's not everyday a ghost goes strolling through your home that you can see. I think they are around more often then we realize, spirits as well. Though it seems that ghosts are reportedly seen more frequently. Which makes sense to me for a few reasons.

I wonder if he was just a passer-by or if he has passed through your home before even though this was the first time you actually saw him? He may have not had enough energy to manifest in this way, or if he did it occurred when you were not there to see him, or were sleeping etc? He may even be hanging around at one of your neighbours homes, do you know if any of your neighbours have been experiencing anything unusual? Given the style of dress you noted it does make you wonder if he was a victim of the earthquake, or maybe his home was near yours at one? If he he wasn't it's still sad that he has been wandering around all that time. I know you mentioned there was no apartment there before the 60's, could there have been another building of some sort from that era, a buisness, store or even a barn perhaps? Actually given he walked through your window that would make sense, as that may have been where a room or doorway once was, or even a pathway. Could you tell how old he was and are you certain the clothing he was wearing was from the late 1800's? I ask as it's always possible he is one of the former residents you noted who has since passed away, or even one that died in the 60's soon after the building was built.

Have you noticed any other unusual activity in the last while? Even things that you may have passed off as nothing at the time? Though it is important to always rule out plausible causes first whenever odd activity is noted, especially when you've had an experience like this....as it can be easy to start looking or expecting things to happen, so mundane things can be mistaken for paranormal activity.

I don't think you were being unfriendly Grem by asking him to leave. It is your home and you have full right to want to feel comfortable there. In the time you were watching him did he seem to notice that you were there? Hopefully he heard you tell him he needs to move on and not remain earthbound any longer, though if he doesn't believe he is dead he may have wondered what in blazes you were talking about, provided he even heard you or realized you were there.

Well not sure how you feel about trying to capture evidence by taking photos and doing evp's, but if you are comfortable in doing so I would keep my camera handy, and try and see if you can capture an evp. I would also take random shots each day as you never know, even though ghosts/spirits are not making their presence known doesn't mean they are not there. Unless you captured his full apparition though (which is not only very difficult to do, but full app's are rare find indeed), it would be hard to know if it was his energy should you capture something that can't be explained.

One other thought, was there anything of relevance about the day that you saw him, is that specific date significant to the history of the area in some way? It may not hurt to do a little research. Do let us know if anything further happens, and sorry for all the questions and my long post here. Thanks again for telling us more about this. =)

Wow that is incredibly strange(not in a bad way ) you know what? I have always believed in the paranormal but I have never had any encounters funny huh? anyways Ithought that your story is interesting.cool:)

Gremlin, that is pretty freaky. It certainly would have startled me. I agree with Cat, you have no reason to feel guilty asking him to leave, it's your home and who knows, maybe you helped him move on. It would have been great to have a picture, but there's never a camera around when you need it. That happens to me too. You can sit there with a camera in your lap all day with nothing happening and then as soon as you sit it down to do something else something freaky happens.

It's funny that you mentioned the underground river and spirits being attracted by the water. I've read stories about superstitions that spirits can't cross running water. I don't know if it was supposed to be all spirits or just maybe evil spirits. I find the water angle really interesting because whether spirits are supposed to be attracted by it or repelled by it there's ofter water somewhere in the story or beliefs.
