I have seen both the British and the American version of this show and I've got to say
(okay, I don't
have to say it... I'm not being held at keyboard point or anything)
that I prefer the British version.
The general set-up is the same but there are differences.
British: People with the numbered boxes are other contestants.
American: Models have numbered metal briefcases.
British: Contestant talks (a bit) with the people with the numbered boxes and sometimes asks what they think they should do.
American: There are family members (apart from the main audience...on the edge of the stage) giving their advice.
British: The audience does not scream and yell constantly.
American: The audience is very loud.
British: The banker offers some really nasty deals. *laughing*
American: Believe me, not as evil as the British one.
British: The host is much more laid back in some ways.
American: Howie Mandel... what can I say...

(although he does do a good job of it)
The tension level seems to run much deeper on the British one than the American one. I know that sounds odd but maybe it's the difference in atmospheres.
I am pretty sure that one reason I prefer the British version is the noise... Loud, screaming audiences are really not good for me.
Okay, I've added my two pence... two cents worth here....
