Over the years and not on any kind of regular basis I smell smoke. Not exactly cigarette smoke or something from a fireplace or campfire but something that for no better explanation smells like smoke. There are times it lingers on for hours and starts to annoy me, then there are times when it's only noticeable for a minute or two. I started keeping a journal last week in hopes to make some sense of things..any suggestions? I was in Palm Springs on vacation and smelled it while falling asleep in our RV.

Maybe someone that has passed and used to smoke is going on vacation with you? lol

It could be a sign of a loved one who comes to visit you now and then, does it make you think of anyone in particular when it happens? Have you tried to rule out plausible causes? Say a business of some kind that may have a smoke smell coming from that drifts into your home. Depending on wind it may linger of just be a glimpse. A neighbour who may be burning something in their yard now and then? Anything in the home that may create a burning smell at times? Good idea to check through everything in the event something is shorting out. Or does it happen when the heat turns on, you know that burning smell you can get if the heat hasn't been on much, it's like burnt dust. lol

Though seeing you have experienced in the RV too and not just your home, it doesn't sound like it would be something in the house itself. Anything around the RV the area of the RV park that may have created some smoky smell in the air?

If your able to rule things out, then I lean towards this being a spirit visitor and that is their way of letting you know they are there. =) Journaling the occurrences is good idea, you may not a pattern. Also note what you were doing at the time, anything concerning in your thoughts, or you are always feeling really happy went it happens etc. Keep us posted on this and anything else that may occur. =)
