Look at this handsome guy.

Hubby and I went hiking around the California Citrus State Park yesterday and we happened on this little guy. Hubby pointed him out on the sidewalk ahead of us. I took a few pics and the lizard ran off to the dirt then turned around and ran back to the middle of the sidewalk to pose for some more pictures. [Cool] What a ham! Reptiles have so much more personality than people give them credit for. He let us get quite close and when I was done taking his pic he scurried off to the side and watched us leave. I told him thank you and to watch that nobody stepped on him.

Here's a pic I took of part of the park from on top of a hill. A typical southern California hazy day.

As you can see I am enjoying my new camera very much.

Awesome pics Renee, thanks for sharing them. Love that lizard he is darn cute! Was showing the pic to my son and he noted his g/f has a lizard at her place (learn something new everyday lol), and let me know he's thinking of getting one once the fish are all gone for his tank. He has a big enough tank to have a small lizard so that's no problem. But who knows how long the fish will last, he's down to the shark and I think only a cpl smaller other kinds, the rest of gone bell-up here and there. Poor fishies. =(

Glad your enjoying the new camera, I love taking pics too. Studied photography years ago, but that was long before digital, it's such a treat to see your shots right after taking them. Though I did enjoy watching pics develop in the dark room that was a rewarding part too. On the news the other night they were showing the snakes in the snake pits (believe I noted that in a thread somewhere some time ago), we want to go. We missed it last year, but by the looks of the news clips there are a ton of them this year. Hopefully they all have started migrating out yet as I do want to see the dens when they are full. In one shot they estimated the snakes in the tens of thousands (one den). All that slithering and moving balls of snakes is pretty cool. If we do manage to get out there I'll have camera in ton, maybe can get some good shots to share. =)
