Hi, we got back from Gettysburg last friday and I have to say again not too much happening on the paranormal side. I got a few orb pictures but nothing fantastic. We did not have the time to spend on ghost hunting like we have done in the past. I did get a few more ghost books of people's occurances and it makes me think. The more I read I do believe there is a ripple in time or a time vortex there. It can't be all ghosts even though there are plenty of those around. There are too many cases where people encounter real people from the past. Not shadowy creatures but real breathing living people. There was a story about a doctor driving down the road that was hailed down by what he thought was a re-enactor. The guy said his friend needed help and the doctor escorted him to his tent. The doctor thought this was a real good re-enactment camp and went to treat this man that had a sabor wound. He patched the guy up and went about his way. Later he kept thinking about the guy and how out of place everything was and he decided to go back and check on the man. When he went to the site there was no encampment there and no sign that there was ever one there. This kind of thing happens too many times. Where people are in a scene from the past. Its not a residual haunting because he is interacting with the people. There has to be something to this. Another weird thing was that some people don't know this but The first day of the battle July 1, 1863 it was reported that the man fighting under Chamberlin all saw the ghost of who they believed to be George Washington and his men riding right in front of them while they were positioned on the hill. This was documented by Chamberlin himself that they all saw this. They thought is was a sign from Washington that he wanted to keep his country together. There is something very special about this place. What are your thoughts on this.

Hi Mary! I've heard the story about Chamberlain also. Similar stories have been told before from people involved in military campaigns.

Things like that do make you wonder. I suppose the only way to have any evidence would be to find out if there were any stories of ghosts in the area prior to the Civil War -- which of course more than likely, would not be documented.

I like the ripple in time/vortex theory. On the other hand, so many lost their lives there, some form of paranormal activity seems almost a given.
