HALLOWEEN! AH HAH HAH HAH!
So, who is getting ready? LOL When the Grandkids were little I made a haunted living room and over the years we've gone from that to the porch and the yard, and, and............LOL
Hubby says he's surprised the kids come up to the door? I have so much fun with Halloween. My Dads birthday is Halloween. After he left us it took years to get back into it and my sons say I am back in full force!
Probably my fav set-up is two skeletons singing Sonny and Cher's "I got you babe!" I laugh when they sing "they say were young and we don't know!" ha ha ha
Anybody have any new latest, tips or anything?
One thing I did this year, is I rigged my scarecrow to turn around and come to the door! LOL He's on elastic! I just pull the string and here he comes! Guess I better quit playing with him or I might break him!
Well, just looking for any new and cool ideas anyones got?
Hugs,
Peggy

Ooooooooh! I remember the years past when I had time to do all kinds of fun stuff for decorating! Yeah, I know... I'm still basically a youngin', but I've gotten so busy with other 'projects', if you will, since those days. [Laughing] The SK store(s) & sites keep me so busy anymore. Anyhooooo... I'll share with you some of m' fun Halloween decorating secrets. [Wink] Don't mind me if I get a bit wordy.. LOL

Creepy Moving Head:
Use (or buy) a "personal", oscillating fan (those small ones - 6"-8" diameter I think?)... and buy a full-sized rubber mask of your choice; the spookier the better. [Big Grin] Place the mask over the oscillating fan and set it out where the kids can see it well (on the porch... a bench, in the window...etc. wherever it has good movement). Of course, throughout trick or treating, you'll probably want to keep it running steady, BUT, do expect that the fan will 'die' more readily than normal because of the continual usage with the rubber mask over it -- I think the motor gets rather hot. Just be sure to watch it. [Wink]

Rocking Chair Man:
This is great to place out in the yard close to the walkway to your front door. As trick-or-treaters pass by, they may well *pass* out. [Laughing] No kidding! Here's what we did....
We stuffed an old pair of overalls & shirt (with crumpled newspaper I think) and added a rubber mask for his head (stuffed as well). He looked like an old farmer whose time had long passed, if you get my meaning. =P At the time, we had a 'not-so-desirable' rocking chair, so we used it for his seat outside.
Once 'he' was properly seated & secured in the rocking chair out in the yard, we rigged some fishing line (it's nice & clear)to the chair and through the window into our living room. We'd peek through the blinds and when we'd see kids walking up to the door, one of us would pull on the fishing line to make the chair rock! It worked beautifully; most kids would jump back and their eyes would bulge for a moment! A great and safe scare for Halloween night. [Wink]

If I need to be wordier about how to do either, just holler!

Kell
