You may have more than one ghostie in your house.

That you became calm about it is a very good sign. Experiencing a ghost is scary to most people. It still can be unnerving to me. The fact that you felt calm with it there means your intuition felt no reason to feel afraid of it. That and the fact that you asked it to leave and it did. Though it may not have completely left. What exactly did you ask it to do? Think about when you ask your kids to do something. Often they take it to the letter or interpret your request their way. Ghosties are people too. They often do the same thing. Which means, depending on what you asked of it, it may have left you alone but is still hanging around.

I'm a firm believer in ghosties migrating. Most often they attach to a place, person or thing. But I've known some to attach to areas. To actually move, if only temporary to another area depending on certain circumstances. One of the main circumstances is people. My metaphor for this is people can be lights in the darkness. Ghosts are often attracted to people with lots of energy. Teenagers going through a large physical change (adolescence). People opening themselves spiritually and/or psychically. When I spent a while opening myself psychically, I ended up with dozens of ghosties visiting me nightly. My bedroom was literally crowded. I had to clear them out. They all didn't happen to haunt my house.

Dead smells, bad smells are usually from a ghost with problems. Negative energy. If the smell is from a ghost and not something of the normal stuff (you do have kids =) ), it would mean you have a ghost of a more negative nature. It doesn't mean it's a bad spirit. It just may be negative in one way or another.

If your first one didn't leave then you may have more than one.

Hiding keys and such usually means a few different things. Ranging from fooling around out of love of someone to a ghostie trying to be nasty. Just imagine all the reasons you may want to hide something from someone. Then add in that ghosts also do it to get peoples attention for whatever reason they have.

It's important to remember, that they are people you do not know. Even with live people you can't always get a clear picture of their intent. Ghosties appear to be no different. Please do not take them lightly unless your intuition/psychic sense tells you different. I'm a great believer in trusting your intuition.
And on the flip side, some of the nicest people I've ever met were corporally challenged.

This is awfully long winded. I hope it helps.

And as always, this is from my experience. Not everyone agrees.

Hi - that does help. I thought I had responded - but it hasn't been posted - oh well. Anyway - I had thought that it was my grandfather visiting - and the room that the spirt seems to be in the most is my middle son's room - his namesake. My son was about 7 months old when my grandfather died. Yes, I did think that the fact that I had sons is why there was a foul smell - however - the smell only seems to be around for about an hour - so that would make sense - and it was also in the hall - hmmmm.

A few of the events were my middle son's keys disappeard for about 3 days - then we went away for about 3 days - when we got home - there were the keys on the stairs - we couldn't have missed them! then my daughter and grandson slept in middle son's room - and the baby bottle disappeard - only to show up the next day - this was after a throughout looking for it. Most of the activity is in this room.

Any thoughts?

I'm still giggling at "corporally challenged" [Laughing]

I agree with what Nakis has said. I also believe ghosts can "migrate" and do tend to attach themselves to people with a lot of energy or someone who is on the same "wavelength" they were in life.

I've had things disappear and reappear before; it is a pretty common experience for people who have those "corporally challenged" residents.

It could be the spirit of your grandfather. However, do you know anything about the history of the land your home is on? New houses can be haunted also. If a spirit was attached to the land for some reason, either a place where they met an untimely end, or enjoyed a great deal in life, etc...they may try to remain there.

I did live in one home where I experienced the "rotten eggs" odor, and I know it isn't pleasant. I agree with Nakis, it may not mean an "evil" spirit, but one who may have some "issues." However, I've got to say, I don't like the sound of when you described it entering your body. I'm a firm believer that my body is my own and nothing better mess with it unless it has my permission!!

Odd as it sounds, have you thought about talking outloud to this spirit? Sometimes just having an open, frank discussion just like you would with a living human being is just the key. Tell it you know it is there, you are (or aren't) okay with it staying there, and that it needs to leave the personal belongings of your family alone. I think I would also make the statement that entering or using your body in any way shape or form is a huge no-no and it will have to leave if anything like that ever happens again.

Just remember, it is your home. If you're okay with sharing it, that's great; just make sure some boundaries are set. If not, you do have the ability to take it back and send your resident ghost packing. Keep us updated!

I really never thought of the land the house is built on - no I don't know much about it. I know that kids used to ride bikes and dirt bikes on the property - and that it used to be kind of a dumping site for the neighborhood - other than that -

The incident when it entered my body - like I said it had beenthere for about two weeks - I could feel it - and it really wasn't a "bad" feeling - just an energy feeling. I have a friend that freaked out when I told her - so that night I just said thank you for visiting - but it is time for you to go - and it did. It was a very strange feeling.

I hadn't thought of talking to it. My younger son (16) said it was back - he smelled that rotten egg smell again last night - again - in a strange place - then it was gone in about an hour. He just said the ghost is back - I can smell him!

I don't think it bothers me that there is a spirit here as long as it really doesn't disrupt anything. It is a bit interesting. It is disturbing though that the smell means that it has "issues". Is there anything we can do to help it? Maybe that is why it is here?? Any suggestions on how to get more info on my property?

I know one time I was in Bridgport CA on my honeymoon (the honeymoon breakdown) and we camped until we could get the car part - I had such a bad feeling about where we were - I couldn't wait to leave. I know something bad had happened there. My husband thought I was nuts - however, I have had enough "feelings" that he believes me now. Also, any suggestions on how to be more in touch or develop that more - I really would like to explore that.

Thank you for your help! I appreciate it!

Try to take note of when things happen as well. Whenever I experience things like this I look for the patterns. Some of what you are experiencing might be just what some refer to as tape recordings. Sights, sounds, smells, feelings, that are imprinted on the area, house even people. Everything is energy and can be imprinted.

With the keys and the bottle, it sounds like the ghostie is making a point. It wants you to notice something. It's trying to get a message across.

I'm a firm believer that spirits can't enter peoples bodies. I was attacked in the middle of the night by a really dark entity once. It was all over just about every inch of my skin trying desperately to get in, but couldn't. It was a real energy 'vampire'. Are you sure you felt it enter your body? Maybe you just felt it across your skin? I've felt things like that, like things, maybe ghosts, moving through me. This is a very interesting aspect. We'll have to discuss this more on the board.

I've always been hesitant to speak out loud directly to spirits. You're focusing energy overtly at them. My intuition has always been to avoid this unless my course of action towards them has already been decided. Like if I'm performing a house cleaning. I've always prefered to quiet my mind and open up psychically to the area/ghosts and let the impressions come. I get all kinds of stuff this way. From feelings and impressions of the place to direct mental communication from spirits. Sometimes auditory. I've always felt the safest doing it that way. It doesn't always work. But normally that means I'm just not well suited at that time to do that and recognize that and try later. We can't do and be all we can all the time.

And to repear what Carrie said. It's your body and your home. You set the limits and make the decisions. I believe the best person to clear the home of a spirit is the people who live their. The house is imbedded with your energy. You perform all of your life functions there. Love, live, argue, suffer, enjoy, etc.. . And if you do decide you don't want them there though you can live quite happily with spirits, use love. Giving love, stern love, tough love, but be positive. If it is just to show the love you have for yourself and your family but needing it/them to leave your house and grounds.

Good gravy. Another long one. Sorry. =)

[Embarrassed] So - I wonder what kind of message it is sending or what it wants us to notice. It really is directed towards my middle son - who by the way is quite an interesting young man -hippie, artist, musician type - and is pretty open to these kind of things. I have always felt it was somehow involving him. Maybe he needs to try to connect?

I have never even thought of a spirit entering my body until that night - I am pretty certain that something went into the soles of my feet - I could feel the energy go up my legs and into my mid section. I could feel something "with me" for the two weeks until I asked it to leave - and again felt the energy go down my legs and out my feet. I know that sounds really bizarre - I seem odd just writing it. And I didn't say anything outloud - it was to myself at night when I was in bed. I wasn't asleep yet.

I don't think at this point I really want it to leave - maybe just understand it and see if there was something in particular it wanted.

I don't mind the "long" comments - as I said before I am new to this whole thing - so it is a learning experience for me! Thanks for the [Yep!]

opps - typos - sorry!
Thanks for the help!

*Just combining the two posts...Trin =)

Here is something interesting - if anyone has a few thoughts - my son wrote a note and put it on the desk asking our spirit what it wants maybe he can help. the next morning it was on the floor upsidedown and that night there was a piece of gum on his new blinds in his room - he is really a little freaked out now.

Just a guess, but it sounds as if you may have a mischevious young spirit who either wants to play or is enjoying playing with your sons head. Unless something threatening happens, I wouldn't be too upset by this.

Let us know how it goes, will you?

Hi Karen, I am new to the board and hope this gets through, as i was unsuccessful on the Introduce yourself board.

I am a clairvoyant medium.

The enrgy entering the body makes me uncomfortable, as all of the mediums, who taught me, always told us students to NEVER go into trance, or let a spirit enter our body, as the entity may not want to leave.

The smell of something "dead" is another red flag.

I would sprinkle holy water, and salt around the area.

I also would have a priest or minister or rabbi bless my home.

If you would like to know more, you are welcome to listen to my FREE radio show, Tuning in With Betsy, at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/betsy[/URL] it is Wednesdays at 6 pm Calif. time, 9 pm on the East Coast, or any time at all on the archives page.

God bless,

Betsy Balega

I just wanted to add that a Solitary Wiccan functions as their own priest/priestess and they can also perform house blessings. In my experience I have learned that it doesn't matter what "religion" you use as long as you believe in a "Positive Higher Power". I also want to mention that I have had great success, burning sandalwood incense,(or a combo of Rose and Vanilla) when cleansing the home. I also use burning sage, along with the usual 4 elements , Holy WATER, salt of the EARTH, incense for AIR, a candle (a red one) for FIRE, and a heart-felt prayer to seal with the fifth element of SPIRIT. I carry each "element' throughout the home and let the water, incense, salt, light from the fire and the love of Spirit so that it may pervade the entire home, including all the corners.
There are many types of clergy and ways to perform a blessing, this is just my way of doing it and it manifests this way because Wicca and Native American spirituality are a part of my chosen path. Please feel free to chose what is most comfortable and seems right to you.
Also, Please let us know how it goes,
