Of all the of the things that can be traumatic to an individual, Mans inhumanity towards man, causes the deepest, most devestating, and longest-lasting of traumas.

This is not just my opinion, it is scientific fact!

I hope that this forum can bring some preventitive measures and perhaps treatments for the dehumanizing effects that result from such horrendous acts, as Parental Neglect, Incest, Rape, Molestation,Torture, Murder, etc. (To which death would often seem preferable).

I however, do no have the stomach for it, but I bless all of you for exploring this subject!!! This may not be the reason for the Crime and Forensics Forum, but I had to express myself concerning inhumanity.

Thanks,
Ravenheart

I hardly know how to comment on this last post....I do not blame anyone for doing whatever they have to do to survive, especially in war time.

Nor can one fully blame a person afflicted by mental illness who does not comprehend right from wrong, but otherwise it it is simply an evil act of harming the innocent for pleasure ...that I abhor!!!

A wise woman once said, "We may not be able to clean up the cesspool, but we do not have to add to it". Thank you for doing your share to help make the world a better place, I am sure you are more appreciated than you know!

Well said, Ravenheart. If every person could just give a little of themselves to make the world a better place, we'd all have a much nicer world to live in.

GrimReaper, I know a lot of Vietnam vets and the struggles they have gone through emotionally. I know you endured a lot and saw a lot of horrible things; anyone who has been in a war torn country has. Thank you for your service and for what you are doing now as a volunteer paramedic. You are a hero. I know your work now can't be easy either, but please know your compassion and caring is appreciated.

Hi all,

I just wanted to step in and clarify that this forum is for Crime & Forensics... moreso for civilian crimes and the forensics that may come of it. Civilian atrocities not in time of war, if you will. (As Ravenheart pretty much stated..)

War crimes are one thing - apart from what this forum was set up for really, but yes, war can and does get into the crime and/or forensic realm. All we ask is that one doesn't focus on war here. (War topics can be discussed in the "Hallowed Ground" forum.) But certainly, if something to do with war/crime/forensics comes into play, you're welcome to post it in this forum.

That said, Ravenheart, I'm sorry you may not have the stomach for this forum (although it isn't unneccesarily graphic). I too have been abused in my childhood by my grandfather, so I totally understand your position. At the same time, crime & forensics happens to be one of my (and Mare's) interests, as well as many of our board members -- that is why the forum is here.
Grim, I thank you very much for your service to this country and admire you for it. I'm so sorry that you had to go through the Viet Nam war; I know that isn't an easy thing to have to deal with or get past. God bless you for your strength.

Kell

It's unfortunate that you're offended by my words and are leaving in such a bitter fashion, Grim.

I wish you greener pastures where you can find the happiness you're looking for.

Hi everyone,

This forum helped me when my thirteen year old grandaughter was targeted on the internet, some older guy calling her and my horrible fear that something might happen to her. Talking about it with friends here helped me greatly.
I also am interested in crime and forensics. I caught the bug from my DIL who works in forensics for a major city. And like I tell Michele, it may not be dinner table discussion for some but those of you who want to chat with us "come on in the other room." =)
And it might be that I am also a child of abuse?
I would also like to add that being the daughter of a DAV from WWII and the wife of a NAM VET, I am proud of every single man and woman who has fought to protect our country. Its because of you that I can lay my head down at night and feel safe. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
Hugs to all.........

Well, I am sorry that GrimReaper has found it necessary to leave the board over just a simple post by Kell to let him know about our Hallowed Ground Forum, which is the place for discussions of war. No one here has treated GrimReaper unkindly, and I am hoping that you, Ravenheart, will not be leaving, as well, just because a friend finds our board so distasteful. Ravenheart, we care about you just as we did from the beginning. And, GrimReaper, none of us dislikes you, or wishes you any ill. We were surprised that you are leaving us, and wish you well in finding peace, whatever you conceive it to be.

Everyone has things that are hurtful in their lives, and it is not just the war vets that it happens to. I am sorry that GrimReaper seems to think that he is the only one here who has known true sadness and grief over things that have happened to him. Some of us are "victims of life", and didn't have to experience war to find abuse and sadness. We have come together here to help one another, and we will always be here.

Peg, your post is so spot-on, and I know that you have had more than your share of hurtful things in your life. I, too, am grateful for all of our vets who have put their lives on the line to save each of us. Bless you for your comments.

GrimReaper, you are still welcome here, if you choose to return. If not, I wish you the best. But, we will leave the light on for you!

Blessings and hugs,

Mare

Thank you, Grim... apology accepted. =) All I was trying to do is clarify the forums and what they're used for. I'm interested in both topics (Forensics & War), and that is why we have a forum for each subject. [Wink]

Hugs,
Kell

P.S. I know the decor and perhaps the description for the Hallowed Ground forum may look like it's only to be used for Revolutionary or Civil War, but it covers all wars. Maybe a redecoration project is in order for that forum. If you have any suggestions, please throw 'em at me - just watch the aim! [Laughing] [Wink]
