I'm a little late in wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I hope all of you had a good day!
Thanksgiving Day is a day for us to count our blessings, and to celebrate the harvest, much like they did in the old days. We have recipes for things like fruit salad and stuffing that have been passed down through our family, and we look forward to the traditions.
It is even a little more special now, after having searched our genealogy more in recent years, as it appears that my mother's family are descendants of the people who came here on the Mayflower. (Related to John Alden and Priscilla Mullins Alden. They are my 9G Grandparents, and Kell's 10G Grandparents.) My father's parents came here from Cornwall, England around 1900, via Ellis Island, so they weren't in on the early Thanksgivings, as my Mother's parents were. Just a small thought to add to what we think about this holiday.
I hope everyone found many blessings to count, even among the sadness or illness that has touched your lives in the past year.
Hugs and Blessings to all!!
