Every year at this time, I am reminded of a story I once heard, about a man who recieved a visit from an old friend on Christmas Eve. Elated to see one another, the two men feasted, while drinking and talking well into the wee hours, but when the home-owner awoke, he found that the food on his friends plate had not been eaten nor his bed slept in. As he, pondered this mysterious situation, the dorbell rang, it turned out to be a telegram informing him that his friend had died the previous night at home, a great distance away in another state.
just thought someone might enjoy hearing this tale,

How interesting, and a great story. It is amazing how things like this happen, and we cannot cast them off because there is a great possibility that the spirit of the friend was there to say goodbye at the time of his passing.

A similar thing happened to my husband when his older sister passed away. After he had gone to bed and turned off the lights, he saw just her head floating across in front of him at the foot of the bed. She was speaking, because her lips were moving, but there was not a sound. We didn't hear about her passing until a week after it happened (our family is not very in-touch with us, probably because Bill moved to Phoenix in the early 1960's, and the rest of them remained in the South.), and this occurance my husband encountered with his sister was very close to the actual time that she passed. We think she came to check on his wellbeing, and to say goodbye in the only way that she could.... since we are in Arizona, and she lived in Georgia, and had alzheimers. Her chance of travelling was impossible, unless she did it in spirit form. At least that is what we believe.

Thanks for posting your story, Ravenheart. It is a good one! =)

Many blessings,
Mare
