I want to wish everyone here at SpirtKeep and their familys etc. A very happy Winter Solstice.I am going to paste here something I found on the internet about today.I think is interesting to read.
Linds

today is a day of cosmic new beginnings. As the longest night of the year, Winter Solstice marks the tipping point of the solar cycle. It heralds the turn of the season toward increased light. As metaphor or myth or religious conviction, consider the Solstice to be the Sun's annual birthday. Tonight's stretch of darkness gives way to a newborn Sun at dawn. From here, the Sun grows in power with each hour added to daytime — until the Equinox in March, when night finally meets its match in light. Our longer days reach their peak at the Summer Solstice, when the cycle once again tips toward the dark.
The darkness is a sacred dreamtime, the macrocosmic night for the Northern Hemisphere's collective unconscious. On the Winter Solstice, a little sliver of an idea — as tiny as our infant Sun — may come to light within the nourishing warmth of your human heart. Nurture that seed as the season beckons continued dreaming... until your eyes evidence the expansion of daylight that experience and science assure. Come February, when the days are noticeably longer, that dream will ask your commitment. From commitment springs action — planting and tending — which fruiting rewards. Ripeness. Then a return to the Earth once again for regeneration into seed. Full circle.
Mark today as the starting point of the cycle. What dream has come to you in this Winter night? What bright possibility has flickered into your consciousness? What tiny spark invites your encouraging breath?
The new moon — our monthly fresh start — has made a date with today's Winter Solstice for a double whammy of new beginnings. Make a wish with that dream in hand and breathe out: whoooh. It is certain to come true... just continue to fuel its burgeoning fire. You do your part, and Heaven and Earth meet you more than halfway.

That was a very intertesting piece to read! Thanks so much, Gremlin, for posting it for us. I have made my dream into a wish on this Winter Solstice, and I have breathed it out, with high hopes of nurturing it to fruition in the coming seasons. Maybe with the New Moon and the Winter Solstice coinciding, this makes a terrific time to set even our tiniest dreams into motion.

Bright Blessings to All!!!

Thanks for posting that Gremlin. Most people miss the Solstice with everything going on for Christmas.

Some friends of mine celebrate the Solstice with special circle dances and everyone who joins is requested to dress all in white.

I find it important to take in the movements of nature. One of them the cycles of the earth and sun.

Thanks again.
