I saw this movie once when I was very young. It scared the begeessus out of me. I was hoping maybe someone knows the title.

It's a low budget horror flick from the 50s or 60s. It's black and white. It's about some people who somehow end up on this island in the pacific somewhere (at least I think it was). For some reason people ended up with mushrooms or fungus growing on them. Once that started you would eventually turn into a mushroom/fungus.
I remember seeing a lot of east asian people in the movie thought I believe the main characters were caucasion. I don't remember it having subtitle so it my have been made in the west (not necessarily by a Hollywood studio).

I was hoping to find this movie again and see if it still scares me. =)

Any clues?

Wow, great work mare! You know,...Nakis's post gave me an idea. Don't know if there's a post here already (as its been a while since I've been here) but how about listing a movie that really scared the crap out of someone? For me, the Exorcist really got me! I was so scared to go tosleep at night! I still won't watch that movie today! Great post Nakis.
