I've written about my husband James before, but let's suffice it to say that he isn't what most people would think of when they thought of someone with psychic ability -- however, he occasionally comes out with things that truly surprise me. James is a very analytical guy, very practical; he believes there is something to psychic ability, the paranormal, etc...he just isn't sure what.

We were lying in bed last night talking and I mentioned to him a silly, but somewhat traumatic experience I had when I was in high school, a story I had never shared with anyone, not even my family or closest friends. Much to my surprise, he was already aware of it. He thought I had already told him the story, but this was something I had never even told my closest friends. He went on to describe the setting, what I was wearing that day, and details he could not have possibly known. He said that he had always pictured the incident as a third party, not from my perspective.

We started discussing this type of phenomenon. Did he pick this up from my own subconscious? Is it some form of esp? The third party perspective almost throws that theory out for me.

About a year ago, we drove through my old neighborhood and the high school I attended. He told me that right away, he knew where the event had occurred and figured it was something I had told him. Could he have picked it up there as some sort of "place memory", imprinted on the fabric of time? Any thoughts? I'm curious about what others believe to be the explanation on things like this.

Good story Carrie. There are a lot of ways he could have picked it up. Just being so close to you he may have shared your memory through a psychic imprint. That's wonderful if it is true. You two would be sharing deeply and intimately. One of the greatest joys in life. =)

One thing I want to ask though. Did he 'see' things as a child? Specifically, did he 'see' things, visions/dreams, as a child about things that are not part of his life or his future? I'm saying this because as a child I saw massive amounts of things in visions and dreams that were not about me or my life. Later in life I've come to know at least some of them were about other peoples lives. I've met people who have told me about things in their lives and I can remember the dream vision from years ago that is about this persons experience. Some of them were actual messages to pass onto there people. Messages I saw as a child.
I'm wondering if he 'saw' your experience this way.

Hi Nakis!

I think James did have a lot of odd/interesting dreams as a child. One in particular he has told me was about being on a WWII era aircraft carrier that was being attacked. I've wondered at times if that was some type of past life experience, or if as you describe, something he picked up from someone he didn't know. I've also done things like that -- picked up tidbits of information from dreams or visions that did not really pertain to my own life.

I sometimes wonder if someday we will pinpoint what causes human beings to experience some of these things. [Nerd]
