KellKell, it was around 3-4 raps because it was just like hearing someone knock on a door. It was a space of around 6' high and 2' across so it was mighty small.

Wow! That certainly would have gotten my attention! What else happened in that house? How long did you live there?

That has happened to me before, twice. Once on my bedroom window as I laid down to go to bed and the next time it happened in the same bedroom, but on my nightstand -- just inches away!

When it happened on the window, it shocked the living out of me, but I mustered enough nerve to get up and look through the blinds. There wasn't a living soul around. In both instances, it happened while I was laying in bed at night with lights out and they were both three firm raps.

I've read others' experiences with this and it always seems to be 3 knocks. Hmm!

Wow, where do I start (there was so much). We had steps leading down to our basement that was joined to the kitchen (where the closet was). We would hear footsteps coming up to the door that separated kitchen/stairs, no one but us would be around. Mom got to the point that she'd boil water for a defense weapon, course they never did come in. And they never did go back down either! My dad worked in a coal mine so he was on those swing shifts and never home when this stuff happened. He'd check outside (when there was snow on ground) and no prints leading in/out. And no fresh snow overnight.

Mom seen a man appear to her in bed one night and described him to an elderly neighbor. The description matched the man that lived in a house that sat off from our house that was no longer standing (just a few boards from the structure)! I've also had a dream where I've woke up (in the dream) and went in living room and seen big masses of bloody blobs all over it, including the ceiling. That's just a little touch of the experiences in that house.

I have never heard any knocking but when I was 12 or 13 we went to visit my parents old neighbors. The neighbors husband had passed away months before that. We ended up spending the night and that's when the sounds began all night. I heard the screen door open and walking to the den where I was sleeping. He sat on the bed and it sounded like he was putting on his slippers. I didn't look if anyone was there I stayed under the covers all night. My parents heard noises also.

Sounds like you had a very terrifying night....Your story reminds me of the room in the White House called the "Lincoln Bedroom". Lincoln has been said to knock on the door in the middle of the night and be seen when the occupants answer...also he had been seen sitting on the edge of the bed putting on or off his boots. I wouldn't mind seeing that myself...lol...

Did you know that Lincoln was psychic? He had a premonition of his own death. Lying in a coffin and everything.

Ghostwatch, you are much braver than me. I would hide under the covers and stay there all night.

I'm so into this stuff it's crazy....I've seen apparitions before so it's not new for me.
