howdy' folk's I'am about to admit I'am a dumpster diver.some states are trying to make it illlegal. phooey on that if they knew all the goodies that were trashed or hidden they would be right there too. $200.00 dollars in silver found in a hot water bottle.( paper money) chest of drawers. one gold coin caught inside the drawer.old pottery china etc and antique collectors delight. every now and then a rat for company' but there's room for both. maryland law say's the rat has a right to be in the dumpster as well. if your bitten.no need to try to sue the owner of the dumpster.

It's amazing what people throw out. When my husband was getting rid of some unwanted scrap metal there was a brand new childs bike in the metal pile. The scrap yard sold it to him for 2.00 .
It's such a waste when there are people that could use the items. That's the very reason our dumps are so full. Recycling means more than a blue box
it means givng unwanted items to people that need them. On our road our neighbours put their unwanted items on the front yard with a sign that says free. There have been some nice things out there. Lounge chairs, kids bikes, and entertainment units. So have a great time dumpster diving! At least the items are being used instead of going to the dump!!

You go Grimmy.

Um,... my name is Nakis and I'm a dumpster diver.

I've never found money or gold (good grief Grim, let me know about some of your good spots =) ) but I've found useful stuff in dumpsters. Even if it's just some metal stock.

Which is why I belong to a freecycle group in my area. It's a website (with ones across the country) so that people can pass on good stuff rather than toss it in the dump. You just have to give the stuff away. No selling.

Good post Grim
