I caught an episode of the series Heroe last night.
I thought it might be fun to start a post asking that if you could have any one power what would it be and why.
Only one power.
I can't remember if it was every posted here before but if we did, it's long since past so we should be able to pose it again. =)
And since I posed the question, I should respond first. =)
If I could have a power it would be the power of flight.
I would love to be able to launch, rise, float, soar, race, ..... etc.. through the air. I love hiking and being on mountain tops so that I cast my gaze across the horizon. With this ability I could travel to new horizons at any given time (well almost).
And one of the first things I would do with my new found power is go on an expidition to find Sasquatch/bigfoot. With the ability to fly you could cover vast amounts of territory. Carry equipment and supplies into areas that would take weeks to get to over land. You could seek out spore of the bigfeet and then stake out the area to get film footage and recover bones, hair and other evidence.
And once I had definitive evidence of bigfoot, I would use that experience to search out other crytozoological species.
Imagine all the things to could search out with indefinite air time. All the lost things, mysteries, lost cities, etc... .

Mine would be "flight" also. Ever since "dreaming" of flying across a beautiful field, I've wished I could do this all the time. It was, of course, astral travel but that's in another section of the board....
Being able to push yourself off the ground and soar through the air is just so thrilling and exhilerating for the soul. Not to mention it would cut down on time spent traveling with a scenic view.

If I were to choose a special power, I think it would be to have the power to heal the Earth of all it's ills with a simple wave of my hand. I am talking about being able to replace trees and animals, to clean the air and the waters, and to heal the wounds mankind has inflicted upon our planet.
I would also hope that my power would extend to healing mankind by giving them new respect for all living things, including their brothers and sisters of every color who inhabit the planet. No more meanness, no more war, no more greed, no more selfishness, no more poverty, and no more living in ways that upset the balance of nature, as we have done for too many centuries. I would hope that in the wake of this healing, love would sprout, and give the whole world a new outlook on life. Our scientists would turn 110% of their wisdom to curing diseases instead of spreading war and destruction.
Yes, I would wish to be a healer of the world's ills.

Nakis, I thought what you chose was terrific, because I believe there is much to be learned about the Bigfoot. That could turn into an enormous gift to mankind, because we may learn some important things that we have never touched upon before. I have always felt that there will be ways that Bigfoot is more intelligent than mankind, basically because we find him so illusive... he remains hidden 99.9% of the time. How does he do this, and why have we always been unable to even discover any remains of a dead Bigfoot, or places where a group of them have lived, like a family?? What do they do with their dead... or are they on a different plane than we are, and therefore, we won't find anything like what we might expect?
I believe that if and when Bigfoot is discovered, and we will find much more is to be learned about him (provided that humankind won't treat him like a lesser being, poking and prodding, killing and putting it under a microscope... before we ever attempt to communicate with Bigfoot in a more intelligent way). Who knows what world problems might be solved by learning more about this creature? Doing what you wish to do by flying isn't selfish at all... I think it would be awesome, and a real blessing to the entire world.
