The Day The Earth Stood Still, that 50's cult classic. I didn't know that a remake is scheduled to be released in December with Keanu Reeves playing the role of Klattu. Just wonder how much different it will be from the 1951 original.

I just saw a preview. It looks much different. They show scenes of the robot actuall destroying the earth. It could be a simulation in the movie but the teaser makes it look like it's destroying the surface of the earth. It seems to have less emphasis on the military/wars/killing each other and adds the failure of stewardship of the earth. So basically man is self destruction and lethal to the planet so we have to be made extinct. Can't allow us to infect the rest of creation.
